A now averting mind

Somewhere in a silent plain,
Where all of the world is asleep,
I dream of things of yet to come,
Of things I wish to be

And as the world is turning,
I play in a sleepless slumber
Watching all that could have been
Planning now, and still...

I watch the rain lay on the ground
And wonder of a beauty
A thing at which the world will smile
And people will come and know of mine

Change a mind into my own
And know that it is mine
A scenery still anew,
For the world to walk by and to be known

And as I search a thing that's not to be,
I find myself burried in a deeper misery
And now I wish that I could turn back time,
Because I fear that it is carrying me toward the end of my life

I've become known to watch the water run
To stand by, before jumping in
And in one breath
The river will dry into an empty field
But not to be a desert sand,
Just to know the Earth again

And I watch, paralyzed
As the once mobile time,
Stops to stare
At a now much peaceful self
In a now averting mind
