Local resident calls for newer power technology

David Crockett Williams, Jr. of Tehachapi, who says he has registered as an independent candidate for United States President, recommended a totally-new approach to energy production during a Pacific Gas & Electric Co. rate hearing in Bakersfield last Thursday.

Williams claims a device he identified as homopolar generator motor, or n-Machine, can produce electricity at one-tenth present costs. He said this and other techniques for producing lower-cost power have been suppressed by the government and big business.

Williams told the hearing officer that he is a chemist, personal and financial agent and an organizer of the Global Peace Movement.
