Overview:
       The formidable Stormbolt is the most widespread Storm Phoenix fighter, although some believe the new Stormchaser will soon begin to replace the design.  Created by House Shinwa as the first heavy fighter in the Combine's possession, the Stormbolt remains a match for many equivalant fighters in the Clans and the Inner Sphere alike.

Capabilities:
        The primary armament of the Stormbolt consists of a trio of PPCs, one on the nose and one on each wing.  Backing up these weapons is a nose-mounted LRM rack, and a medium pulse laser guards the fighter's rear.  The immense heat generated by its weapons load is countered with thirteen extra double heat sinks mounted along the fuselage.  Stress problems caused designers to put supports in several extra places, severely affecting the fighter's aerodynamics.  As a result, the Stormbolt is not stunningly fast, but like most Storm Phoenix fighters is extremely well armored.  First-time pilots of the Stormbolt are always impressed by the fighter's agility, considering the bulky fighter's unweildy appearance.

Deployment:
       The Stormbolt makes up the bulk of House aerospace units, although the SPCM does not use it quite so frequently.
