Overview:
       The first Mech developed by House Brush, the Sand Cat is nearly considered a totem Mech for its resemblance to the feline predator introduced by Jayce Brush to the world of Daidri.  Though the Mech has become nearly obsolete in House forces in recent years, it remains one of the Combine's most effective heavy scouts, and the central military makes frequent use of the Sand Cat in deep penetration missions.

Capabilities:
        The Sand Cat's weapons are hardly impressive for its size, but combat is not the Mech's intent.  Impressive speed and jump capability, plus heavy armor, keep the Sand Cat alive while it performs its task, and an ECM suite keeps it from being discovered.  The Sand Cat is also one of few Storm Phoenix mechs to carry an AMS system.  With the defensive emphasis, it is little surprise that the Sand Cat's weapons payload focuses on close-range fighting, as launching off long-range shots does little to hide a Mech's presence. The trio of pulse lasers surrounds an extended-range medium laser on the right arm, causing critics of the design to ask what the pilot is to do if the arm is lost.  These concerns prompted the addition of the Mech's LRM rack, which is rarely put to use when the Sand Cat is on its intended mission, but greatly adds to its effectiveness in straight battle situations.  The Sand Cat's feet hold claws, which make its kicks and Death From Above manuever especially damaging, so most Sand Cat pilots prefer to use their machines for physical combat.

Deployment:
       Sand Cats are spread through Storm Phoenix combat and Sweeper regiments, though only on rare occasions does one appear in a Home Guard.  The Mech's numbers have decreased in recent years but it is doubtful it will ever quite disappear entirely.

Other Notes:
        Lacking knowledge of the proper name, the Clans refer to the Sand Cat as the Panther.
