Overview:
The Meerkat is the first Storm Phoenix armor, designed by House Mizuno
from a captured Elemental suit. It has been the mainstay of Storm
Phoenix infantry forces since its creation, and is a familiar sight throughout
the Combine military.
Capabilities:
The Meerkat is a formidable customer, nearly twice the speed of the Elemental
though its jump capability is much shorter. Very typical of Storm
Phoenix units, the so-called 'Kat' is built for endurance, mounting a formidable
array of laser weaponry in place of the Elemental's SRM backpack. Two heavy
battle claws--one in place of the Elemental's machine gun--make the Meerkat
effective as a Mech swarmer as well.
Deployment:
The Meerkat is the standard Storm Phoenix armor and makes up the bulk of
all Combine infantry units.
