Overview:
       The Kirin is the most recently created of the Combine's armor suits, and is still not considered a fully operational model. The actual function of the Kirin has yet to be seen, but those who wear it report favorably on its performance.

Capabilities:
       Like most home-grown Storm Phoenix armor, the Kirin is not really an armor suit but a hybrid of metal and ballistic cloth more akin to an exoskeleton than any real body armor. Its short-range, low-damage weaponry and a basic form of stealth armor make the Kirin seem best suited for infiltration, but the Tenma armor also found in the Combine seems to have that role covered.  Because the Kirin's suit systems include infrared sensors, it seems most likely that the armor will eventually find its way into service as a scout, a possibility supported by the suit's mobility. In any case, until the armor sees more extensive field testing its best use will remain a mystery.

Deployment:
       The Kirin is still very rare among the Combine military, currently seen only in one Squad of Meteor Swarm Delta.
