Overview:
With the annihilation of Clan Smoke Jaguar, several Protomechs fell into
the hands of the Storm Phoenix Combine. House Brush's scientists studied
the mechs and succeeded in replicating the enhanced imaging technology,
but deeming its side effects to the pilot not worth the advantages, turned
around and gave the technology to their longtime rivals House Doji. It
is yet to be known whether this was an act of goodwill or an attempt to
sabotage the Doji. In any case, a new BattleMech was built to utilize
the gift, and within a year House Doji had begun fielding the Golem.
Capabilities:
The Golem is a fearsome, long-range powerhouse, with an appearance greatly
resembling the Clan Summoner OmniMech, but much more deadly capabilities.
Fast and jump-capable, the Golem has no trouble finding a suitable position
from which to unleash its devestating combination of LRM, PPC, and laser
fire on an enemy. It carries all the armor its chassis can stand,
and a pair of AMS systems provide extra defense. The Golem's main
weakness is its lack of close-range firepower, and it is usually paired
with other Mechs such as the Ampharos which can assist it when the distance
between the Golem and its enemy closes.
Deployment:
The Golem is rare among House Doji forces, but its numbers are expected
to rise as more are produced and the use of enhanced imaging technology
becomes more extensive.
