Overview:
       The Dragon Claw was the last of the mechs produced by the Storm Phoenix Combine with older Inner Sphere technology.  The Clans had been discovered, and the Combine needed a raider.  The Squall had been pressed into the position, and had amassed an impressive record, but central command wanted a Mech built specifically for that purpose.

Capabilities:
        A heavily modified version of the Squall chassis became the basis for the Dragon Claw.  The original designs called for a Mech that could run well over 100 kph, carrying three SRM packs in case it needed to defend itself, but meant to smash its way in, steal what it was there for, and get out without being caught in a firefight.  The plans had to be modified, however, when the strategy changed: a lance of one Dragon Claw and three Squalls would take part in a raid, with the Squalls covering the Dragon Claw as it worked. The Claw's speed was reduced so that the Squalls would be able to keep pace, and a large laser was added to fill the extra tonnage, giving the Claw admirable combat effectiveness as well as raiding ability.  Of course, later designs eventually made the Dragon Claw nearly obsolete, but it saw service until no more existed.

Deployment:
       Only a handful of Dragon Claws were ever produced, and the last surviving Mech was destroyed on Sahara IV during the Assassin War in 3060.
