Overview:
Named for a Sahara III predator revered for its deadly efficiency, the
Desert Fox is an older design. By sacrificing the usual 100+ kph
speed of most equivalent sized Storm Phoenix designs, the Fox acheives
superior accuracy and firepower.
Capabilities:
The Desert Fox carries 8 extended-range medium lasers, wired to a targeting
computer for a devestating laser barrage. The damage done by this
heavy weaponry array is exceptional for such a light Mech, and the design's
heat efficiency is surprisingly good. Thick armor helps the Fox stay
fighting for a long time. Not as fast as some Mechs of its weight
class, without support a Desert Fox charging Mechs with long range capabilities
will be ripped apart before it can bring its arsenal to bear on its target.
Deployment:
Desert Foxes are found mostly in the Sahara III Striker Regiment, with
a few scattered through Storm Phoenix front-line combat units.
