Grades
Because
this is a physical education class attendence is a large part of the
credit toward the final grade. Two unexcused absences are allowed before
it begins to affect one's grade. Also, because courtesy and decorum
are very important in Judo and are part of what unites Judo players
around the world; and, because Judo is a combative sport, proper attitude
is another large part of one's grade.

|
Judo
belts and ranks are awarded by the authority of the USJA (an internationally
recognized organization thus your judo rank is good anywhere in the
world). Points toward rank are gained by though training, tournaments,
service and time in Judo. You must be a member of the
United States Judo Association to attain Judo Rank but you
do not have to be a USJA member to study Judo
at the SRJC.
