FRCD 4743: Introduction to Research Methods

Course Objectives

• Familiarize students with resources available to keep up with new developments in the areas of family science and child development
• Introduce the main components of the scientific methods and develop an understanding of research as a process
• Teach students how to formulate research questions and objectives.
• Develop skills required to read and comprehend research articles, including some bsaic statistics
• Participate in various phases of research and summarize the findings
• Formally critique a research article and summarize the findings.
