I made this applet almost all by myself. I received some help from a very helpful forum (http://forum.java.sun.com/forum.jsp?forum=31). All I needed help with was making the rectangles actually paint on the screen (I had my "for loop" in the wrong place). They showed me where to put the "for loop" so that it would work. The logic and math behind this program is all mine, though. The applet (the gray box with buttons in it) might go across the screen, so if you want to see the whole applet you may have to scroll over. This makes you unable to view the applet quite right, though it does work. To fix this (for Windows users only), go to the Start menu, go to settings, go to control panel. Double click the icon "Display." Click the tab named "Settings" on the window that pops up. There should be a slider inside a small box called "Screen Area." The slider will look like a horizantal bar with a vertical bar through it. Move that vertical bar by dragging it with your mouse to the side of the horizontal bar labeled "more." Before you move the slider, take note of the current number beneath the slider. Then Slide it over until the numbers below the slider say:
1,280 by 1,024 pixels
If your slider does not display numbers that high when you move it over, leave it at the highest setting. Click the button "apply."
