The Breach
(With no apologies to the Bard)
*
*
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more:
Or close the walls with our Thelemic dead !
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As active work and joy there of;
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the lion:
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage !
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect:
Let pry though the portage of the head
Like the iron cannon: let the brow o'whelm
As fearfuly as doth a galled rock
O'er hang and jutty his confounded base,
Will with the vast and wild ocean.
Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide:
Hold hard the breath, and bend up every spirit
To his full height !
On ! On !
you noble Thelemites !
Whose blood is fet from Gods of war - proof !
Gods that, like Ra - Hoor,
Have in these parts morn till even fought,
And sheath'd their swords for lack of blood:
Dishonour not your Will;
That those whom you call Guardian Angels did
guide you !
Be now thou men of force and fire,
And teach them how to war !
And you, good monks,
of Thelema, show us here the mettle of your Will,
That you are worth your breeding;
which I doubt not;
For there is none of you so mean and base,
That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straning upon the start. The games afoot:
Follow your Will ; and upon this charge
Cry - Nuit ! Hadit ! Ra-Hoor- Khuit !
and Saint Aleister !

The Summons
Whirling words of power;
Earth shattering force;
Blinding light.
I summon the Gods of Aeons past;
by whirling air
Rushing fire
Roaring sea
Trembling earth,
Do I command Thee!
Hear my Invocation
feel my Will !
Lift up Thy ancient hearts;
come thou forth;
Timeless Thrones await
Thy eternal forms,
Hear Thee the cries of Mother Earth;
Hear the Lamentations of Thy defiled Temples;
Bring forth the Hunt!
Break Thy chains of Time,
Now hear my words;
come Thou forth
come Thou forth
Through the twin pillars of night;
set the hearts of men afire!
for I command Thee
come Thou forth
come Thou forth
by whirling air
rushing fire
roaring sea
trembling earth,
do I command Thee,
come Thou forth!
