My love, my obsession.. Shawn Michaels

Alright.. This page is gonna be my "Thoughts for the Month" Page... As the title says, each month, I'm going to tell you what I think about the world... and things going on in it.

MONTH: SEPTEMBER

It's finally September... What does September mean? Well, it means I'm back at good ol' Allegheny College for another year.. This year, I'm a junior - getting to the old end of the school... I'm living in College Court (CC300) with three wonderful women, Michelle, Megan, and Stacy.

Continuing on the college theme, I might as well tell you all my class schedule (because I know you obviously care!!)...

Theatre History I - MWF 10:00-10:50
Intro. to Women's Studies - MW 2:30-3:45
FS 101: Body in Performance - TTH 9:30-10:45
FS 201: Comm. Arts - TTH 11:00-12:15
Abnormal Behavior - TTH 3:00-4:15

Now, I wasn't planning on taking 5 classes... However, I registered for 4 last semester, and it didn't click that being an FSA would be a 5th class... Or maybe I didn't know I was FSAing when I registered... I don't remember. Either way, I've got a full load going on for this semester... It shouldn't be too bad... lots of reading... and the only truly difficult course should be the Theatre History course, since it's a 400-level. On top of my full course-load, I plan on auditioning for the fall play, "Uncommon Women and Others," which is set to go up Nov. 6-9... Being in a play is a lot of work in its own right, but I truly hope I'll make it. *crosses fingers til auditions*

To add to this list of things to do is participation in my amazing sorority: Alpha Delta Pi. I really do love the girls involved in this outstanding group... Events and chapter meetings can get a little time-consuming sometimes, but it's worth it. I want to get more involved this year... perhaps run for an office. I miss being involved like that. I did so much leadership stuff in high school, and now I feel like a bump on a log here in college. So we'll see what more I can get involved with. I just hope everything combined doesn't lead to a burn out.

Personal News: My life has been a little crazy this summer, and not really in a good way. My mom had a stroke in July, and two weeks later, my dad went into the hospital with heart problems. Currently, my dad is fine (well, as fine as he can be, considering..), but my mom really isn't. She's still feeling the effects of the stroke (memory, comprehension, and speech problems), but she's managing. I keep her in my prayers, hoping she'll make a full recovery in time.
In general, July was not a good month... Buddy and I broke up a little before our 10-month mark. It was a very complicated, kinda messy break-up... So I'm still in the recovering stages of that. As they say, time heals all wounds... Well, my heart feels like it was clobbered with a sledge hammer... so these wounds may take a long time to heal.
Changing to absolutely FABULOUS NEWS: My sister is officially a mom! (And I'm officially an aunt!) On Tuesday, August 26, a little after 5pm, Antonia Josephine Wood was brought into this world weighing 6 lbs. 2 oz. at 19.4 inches long. :) I now have an extremely adorable niece, and I couldn't be happier about it!

Otherwise, there's not too much going on in my life at the moment... The summer has come and gone. I worked at Kids 'R' Us this summer... I only made $7/hr, but it was basically the only job I could find with the economy as bad as it was/is... It was fun, and I met some very cool people... One of the girls from work goes to college (and is very close) with a guy I was friends with in high school. Small world, eh? All-in-all, it was good experience... and now I have experience in retail, which could help me get a better job for next summer... We'll see how things go though.

That's about it for now. I know this month is sparse, but things are just starting to pick back up, so I'll hopefully have more to write about in the upcoming months. Ciao for now.
