Half an hour later, will Leech get away with it? She is driving towards the airport....
LEECH'S CAR IS STOPPED BY MALCOLM A FEW STREETS AWAY FROM THE AIRPORT.
MALCOLM: Hey, Mrs Leech, STOP!
LEECH: (winding down her window) You don't have a spot on your nose, you must be Malcolm, how did you get out alive?
MALCOLM: Caroline went really mad, she smashed the hole place up in a mad fit! I scarpered out the back door before she had a chance to get at me. Then she phoned her dad, I listened through the back door.
LEECH: I know, I had just left, I was very lucky.
MALCOLM: I got here as fast as I could to tell you that there is a policeman outside the airport. He is waiting to arrest you!
LEECH: Drat and blast! Whatever shall I do now?
A MINUTE LATER, MALCOLM WALKS UP TO THE POLICEMAN OUTSIDE THE AIRPORT AND GETS HIS ATTENTION.
MALCOLM: Can you direct me to Old Woman's Rest Inn, sir?
POLICEMAN 1: The Inn is located on the left... (he turns to the road and points)...go around the gasworks, over the stile, up the hill, past the trees and you'll see a lovely orchard, the Inn is within this orchard, it is a lovely place to visit....
WHILE THE POLICEMAN IS BLATHERING ON, MALCOLM GIVES THE THUMBS UP TO LEECH WHO IS HIDING ROUND A CORNER, SHE DODDLES PAST, NO-ONE NOTICES HER.
POLICEMAN 1: In fact I gave them some beautiful petunias for their lawn, and this grandfather clock I saw in Oxfam in town, I just had to open my purse straight away and buy it! Also there is an enjoyable commode inside...
MALCOLM: Actually, I'm not that bothered.
MALCOLM RUNS INSIDE THE AIRPORT.
MALCOLM: Mrs. Leech, I think we may have got away with it. Mrs Leech? Where are you?
MALCOLM TURNS AND SEES THREE POLICEMEN IN THE AIRPORT LOBBY, THEY HAVE GOT MRS. LEECH AND CAROLINE WITH THEM.
POLICEMAN 2: Malcolm Yates?
POLICEMAN 3: We have been watching you and Mrs. Leech on security camera outside the airport.
POLICEMAN 4: We are taking you and Mrs. Leech to prison right NOW!
CAROLINE: (smiling) Ha! Nice try Malcolm! Loser! (turns to Leech) And as for you, I hope you rot in hell!
LEECH CRIES.
THEY ALL HEAD TOWARDS THE EXIT.
