In 1969, Ford sent Mustangs that were designed to house 428 Cobra Jet engines to Kar Kraft. Kar Kraft performed tthe necessary modifications to the Mustangs so they would accept the gargantuan Boss 429 HO engine. The shock towers were cut back and moved further outward toward the body, and the battery was moved to the trunk, the engine mounts also had to be modified. All of which in turn improved the performance and handling of the car. Using nothing but brute force and large engine displacement, the Boss 429 acheived a 370 horsepower rating. The Boss 429 remains as one of the most exotic, collectible, and powerful production cars ever built.
