Denise Wieland is one of our
second grade teachers here at Hydro-Eakly Elementary. Denise has been
teaching here for the last four years. She is married to
Charlie Wieland and they have four children, Gretchen, Heidi, Katy, and
Blake. Mrs. Wieland graduated from Southwestern University. One cool thing
her class is doing this year is raising butterflies. She also plans to take her
class on several field trips. Her Favorite thing
about teaching second grade: "they still love their teacher but they're old
enough to do many things on their own."

Carol Sauer
is another one of the second grade teachers here at Hydro-Eakly. Carol has
been married to John Sauer for the last 28 years. They have three boys,
Shad, Dustin and Dane. She lived in San Diego, California for several
years while John was in the Navy but she now lives in Hydro which is also
where she was born. She has been a teacher here for 28 years. This year
she plans to integrate science and social studies with Mrs. Wieland's
class. They also have some field trips planned. She says the best part
about the second grade is that "The students are young, loving, and
eager to learn."
