Welcome to my Child Abuse page.  I thank you for stopping by and ask that you take just a few minutes to read what I have put on this page.  The song playing in the background is called "Dear Mister Jesus," I would like for you to take a moment and just listen to the words, the first time I heard it my heart just melted.  I have included some special poems that i feel are important.  I have not included any sad stories on child abuse because I am sure you have seen plenty of them and know how much of a reality child abuse is.

"Dear Mister Jesus"

Dear Mr. Jesus, I just had to write to you

Something really scared me, when I saw it on the news

A story 'bout a little girl beaten black and blue

Jesus, thought I'd take this right to you

Dear Mr. Jesus, I don't understand

Why they took her mom and dad away

I know that they don't mean to hit with wild and angry hands

Tell them just how big they are I pray

Please don't let them hurt your children

We need love and shelter from the storm

Please don't let them hurt your children

Won't you keep us safe and warm

Dear Mr. Jesus, they say that she may die

Oh I hope the doctors stop the pain

I know that you could save her and take her up to the sky

So she would never have to hurt again

Please don't let them hurt your children..

We need love and shelter from the storm

Please don't let them hurt your children

Won't you keep us safe and warm

Dear Mr. Jesus, please tell me what to do

And please don't tell my daddy

But my mommy hits me, too.

Please don't let them hurt your children...

We need love and shelter from the storm

Please don't let them hurt your children

Won't you keep us safe and warm

"If Teddy Bears Could Talk"

If teddy bears could talk,
what would they say,
what would they tell you,
about the children with whom they play?

They might tell you things you don't want to hear.
Like mommy hurt Tommy,
or daddy is who we fear.

The teddy bears of children are not just some toy,
their sometimes the only love felt by some girl or boy.

So when you see a child scared and alone,
find him a teddy bear needing a home.

Know that you've done good by the deed in your heart,
you've given this child a place for love to start.

There Are Secrets At My House

Ssh! Must be quiet as a mouse
cause there are secrets at my house.
laughing faces, the smiles you see
are really only masks to me.

My mommy cries late at night
her and Daddy had an awful fight
but I'm as quiet as a mouse.
cause there are secrets at my house.

Sissy face is black and blue
Bubby's arm is broke in two
but ssh! be quiet as a mouse.
cause there are secrets at my house.

I try to keep the secrets straight
like Bubby fell off his bike by the gate
oh, and Sissy walked into a door
and there are many, many more.

So all the secrets I can't tell
make my life a living hell
but ssh! be quiet as a mouse.
cause there are secrets at my house.

A CHILDS PRAYER

I heard the prayer of my special child today.
I heard her cry out in such a painful way.
This prayer tore my heart and made me cry.
She kept asking over and over "God tell me why"?

"Why does daddy yell and hit me so very hard."
"All I was doing was getting real dirty in the yard."
"Why does he always scream God and cuss at me so?"
"God won't you please tell me cause I really need to know."

And God tell me why my mommy drinks so very much.
It's been such a long time God since I've felt her touch.
She's always angry God, she says it's cause I've been bad
God tell me please do I have to always be so lonely and sad?

I know you love me God cause you told me you did,
You know God it's sure hard being a kid.
You know God if I didn't have you to talk to each day,
I don't think I could stand it I would probably run away.

Sometimes God I just want to come home to be with you.
Because there God I will always be happy and not ever blue.
No one will hit me or call me bad and ugly names.
No one will tell me they hate me it wouldn't be the same.

Thanks God for listening to my prayers tonight.
I'll try not to make them mad and do what's right.
And thanks God for the Angel you sent to keep me safe.
I'll try to make them happy God and keep a smile on my face.

Good night God and thanks again for loving me.
And oh yes God, when you look down, a smile you'll see.
Cause I know God no matter what else comes my way,
That you love me and you'll keep me safe some way.

Each year in the United States over a million children are abused and neglected. Three children die every day as a result of this abuse.
