AVID Readers celebrated Read Across America Day
March 2nd with local celebrities reading to 200
children at eight Tulsa child care centers.

Oklahoma Eagle Newspaper CEO, Leon Evens
TV Channel 2 personality, Karen Larsen
TV Channel 8 personality, Carole Lambert
Tulsa Firefighter, Sally McGrew
Head Start Admistrative Director, Harold Katz
Nearly 1,000 books were collected and distributed to
children who participated in the RAA celebration.
These donors included: Phi Theta Kappa at TCC,
Bishop Kelley High School, Volunteers of America, Williams,
Beta Sigma Phi Preceptor Gamma Gamma,
Southside Sertoma of Tulsa, Jenks High School Key Club,
WalMart Corp. and Junior League of Tulsa.
