How Hemi Got His Name....
One day while hubby was out working on his car a black & white kitty with no tail started visiting, it never failed, if the garage door was open..the kitty was visiting. He was very skittish at first & you couldn't approach him or he would run, but after a few weeks he settled down & decided this petting stuff wasn't so bad. He became a regular around our house from then on..but we never knew where he lived or if he belonged to someone. Unfortunately where we live it's not unusual to see all kinds of cats & dogs roaming our streets :(..so we kept watching & finally saw him wander over to a house across the street. Hubby went across to ask if he belonged to them & they said yes..do you want him? This poor kitty was one of many these people had..but he was tossed out to live outside..he hadn't had any shots..was not neutered etc..so Hemi came to live with us. He became an inside cat with no problems. He gets along great with our dogs..in fact..you could say HE won't leave THEM alone!! *L*..tails make great kitty play toys. And the dogs just take everything he does in stride.
Hemi is a trip..he has more than his share of personality *L*..but..we're glad he's part of the family now. He got the name Hemi because hubby would like nothing more than to have a Hemi crate engine to put in the car he's restoring & it was jokingly said that the only way he'd ever have a Hemi in his garage..was to name the cat that..so voila..that's how Hemi the cat got his name.
