This clipping of the Tavares Citizen was given to me by Nelson. There is no publishing date on the paper. I rewrote the caption under each picture so it could be read. It was too small to see.


Newsboys, Howard Satin, Derek Works and Mike Yoder become familiar with printer’s ink as they stamp out the news on their hands.

Miss. Leona Brown and Mrs. Bill Peterson join the newsboys as they watch Dick Powers operate the linetype as he sets type for the Citizen. Newsboys are: John Powell, Nelson Bailey and Warren Schroeder.

During their tour of the Eustis Printing Department last Friday, Tavares Citizens learned all of the ins and outs of the newspaper world. Editor Marie Bolles give them an "on the scene" report of what happens from the time news is brought to the office until it is printed for them to sell on Friday. Here they surround J. J. Novy, Printer, as he explains how headlines and ads are set up on a Ludlow.
