The Thrid Book of Swords

CHAPTER TWO
The one-armed man came stumbling along through midnight rain, following a twisted cobblestone alley into the lightless heart of the great city of Tashigang. He was suffering from flesh wounds now--one knife-gash bleeding in his side and another one in his knee--besides the old maiming loss of his right arm. Still he was better off than the man who had just attacked him. That blunderer was some meters back along the twisted alley, face down in a puddle.

And another exert from the work of Fred Saberhagen. This is the first book where Jord and Mark come into contact since the beginning of the first. This is the last of this trilogy in the series, and hits a very high and intense climax. By now it is several years later, and the events here seem to have matured with the time. This is the eventful book that proves the Swords can be broken, when two of the god forged blades are reduced to a charred hilt. Which two? Did I write it? No, actually, I didn't, so I don't feel that it's my place to give away the highest parts. I've already done that, to an extent.
