Why Study The Tabernacle

The Tabernacle of Moses was the center of faith and worship for the family of Elohim. As they traveled through the wilderness, this portable sanctuary traveled with them, being taken down and set up over and over again. For historical reasons alone, this interesting structure is worthy of study. However, the tabernacle holds greater value than historical information. There is, cradled in it's linen walls and furniture, tremendous revelation for the believer.

The articles that will be posted on this site over the next week or so, are the accumulation of what I have studied and taught thus far concerning the tabernacle. As these teachings come forth, I pray that they will be a blessing to you. Over the years I have repeated come back to this study and constantly the Lord will show me new things I previously missed. Always, I am encouraged in my walk. I hope for you the same.

We will begin by looking at the following scriptures.

John 5:39

Search the scripture; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me.

John 5:46-47

For had you believed Moses, ye would have believed Me: for he wrote of Me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe My words?

These scriptures point us to the truth of the tabernacle. First, take note of the fact that Y'Shua declares that the the scriptures testify of Him. We must always keep this in mind as we read the Word. Every verse is a testimony, a declaration, of Messiah.

Y'Shua also points out that Moses wrote of Him and that if we do not believe what Moses wrote we will have great difficulty believing Y'Shua.

This is a powerful statement, not to be passed over lightly. Moses was the author of the first five books of the Bible, called the Torah by the Jews and referred to as the Pentateuch in the Greek. These five are : Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deutoronomy. According to our Messiah, these five books testify of Him and our essential to believing His Words. The writings of Moses are a witness of the Lord.

Now, the instructions for the tabernacle are found in the first five books. Since these books declare the Lord, then the tabernacle declares the Lord. In the structure that God commanded to be built, we behold the Savior.

The center of faith and worship, showing forth salvation, illustarting the One who would come to deliver it, this is the reason for our study. We will see Messiah as we examine the scriptures describing the tabernacle. In this unique God ordained structure, we will find grace. We will see a diagram for the walk of a believer. From the blood, to His presence we will see the heart of our Father, the mission of the Son and the power of the Spirit.
