Peeking out from the shadows within
lies a heart..wanting to begin again.

Pain from the past
keeps it buried deep
where daylight cannot reach.
Walls built so high
almost impossible to breach.

Only the strongest with patience and time
can find the tiniest of cracks
and see into this heart of mine.

Many have tried
but only succeeded
in adding one more stone to the wall..
Until you.

My Golden Knight
so strong..so fair
with kindness and love to spare.

You've brought light back into my life
when all I had was despair.
You're the candle in the window
that leads me back home
to the embrace of the one I love.

Once upon a time I thought
the candle had been blown out
by the strongest wind we've ever known.
I was lost in a sea of darkness
with no shelter from the storm.

I called out but no one was there
I was so scared
like a lost child in the middle of the night.

Then blowing gentle across the breeze
I heard my name whispered
beckoning me to look for the light.

Wearily I tread, one foot before the other
gaining confidence with each step
catching a glimpse of the light
I ran forward into the arms of
my Golden Knight.

I know now no matter how strong the wind
the light will never go out.
And I will remain safe and sheltered,
In the safe haven of my beloved's arms
My Golden Knight.
