A scientist checks into Room 621 at the Chessman hotel, disappears, and is at home, convinced he was held prisoner in Manchuria. The Avengers decide to check in and discover what's really going on.

Notes: One of the few episodes with minorities in it. Max Chessman, the owner of the Chessman hotel, is a gourmet as well as a chess enthusiast.
