More Than A Feeling

chapter two

Kris, currently 16, looked into the mirror.  She looked from her medium
length, light brown hair down to her small feet.  Nothing.  There was not one
thing she liked about herself, or felt comfortable with.

Kris really lacked in self confidence and was very shy.  Sometimes she
let those 2 things take over and that shut her out of a lot of different
things.  Yeah, she had friends.  Not too many though.  She was afraid she
couldn't live up to the expectations of what they call a "good friend."  But
Kris did have a boyfriend.  His name was Jerry and he was 18.

"Hun, Jerry is here!" Kris's mom Gail called up the steps.  About 2 seconds
later, Jerry was standing in the doorway of her room.

"Hey!" he said quite cheerfully.

"Hi.  What's up?" Kris asked him.

"Nothin'.  I wanted to know if you wanted to come to the mall with me.  I
have to pick up some new shirts and stuff"

"Yeah, I guess." Kris answered Jerry.

"Great!  Let's go then." He said as he turned to walk down the steps.

Manda pulled into the Hanson driveway and got out of her car.   She could
here a couple girls talking, trying to figure out who she was.  Manda just
let out a small laugh and knocked on their door.  Quite unexpected, the door
flung open and someone pulled her inside.

"Wow!  That's a great way to welcome your guests!"  Manda managed to say
between bits of laughter.

"Yeah, well we needed to get you inside before the cameras started flashin'
and a herd of girls started charging through our door!" Zac exclaimed.

"So what's up Z-man?," Manda asked, then continued.  "Ohhhhh, new boots?" She asked raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah!  And check this out!" Zac said, lifting his foot so she could see the
soles.

"Silver soles... Nice!"

"Yup!" He said.

"Ok, so where are the other 2?" Manda asked.

"I'm pretty sure they're watching tv." Zac answered, then disappeared up the
steps.

Kris & Jerry walked hand in hand through the mall.  A lot of people were
there since it was a Friday.  Not far ahead, Kris could see a girl walking
towards them.  Her name was Samantha a.k.a. Sam.  She, just like Jerry, was a senior.   Sam had pretty long blond hair that fell to her waist and a set of
beautiful baby blue eyes.  The thought of her made Kris sick.  Here was Sam,
so perfect in many ways.  Then there was Kris,  which compared to Sam was a nobody.  As Sam got closer, she started smiling at Jerry.  Jerry smiled back
at Sam and watched her till she past. Kris then looked up at Jerry which
broke him out of his stare.

"Soooo....." Jerry said.  "Wanna go in here?" He asked Kris, while pointing
to the near by Abercrombie & Fitch.

"Uhhhhhh....."

"Well, they have nice shirts and all I need is to get a couple more.  Then we
can leave." Jerry explained.

"Oh, ok then." Kris answered.  She then followed him into the store

"Hey knuckleheads!" Manda said as she sat down between Tay & Ike on the couch.

"Manda!  Hi!" the brothers chorused, greeting her happily with little hugs.

"So, how was the tour?" she asked them.

"It was great!  The venues were awesome and all our fans are amazing." Ike
answered her.

"Yeah, and every show was sold out!" Taylor added.

"Awesome!"

"Hey SuGrrrr!  Wanna see some of the pics from the tour?" Ike asked, smiling
as he said the little name he had given her, stressing the animal 'grrrrr' at
the end.

"Haha!  Sure!"

"Ok, follow me!" he said, pulling her off the couch.

Haha!  Taylor laughed to himself.  What a pair!
