Wurundor

The Wurundor is an enormous herbivore native to the tundra of northern Gorgamelle. They roam in small herds, retreating to the southerly margins of the tundra in the winter and are among the first animals to forge north with the coming of spring. A fully grown Wurundor can reach 3m at the shoulder and they are protected by a thick and tangled off-white coat. Males have a massive mane that cascades over their shoulders and head, giving them a somewhat blinded look, but in fact they rely mainly on their acute sense of smell. Wurundor have large downward-sweeping horns, that they normally use to sweep snow from the ground for feeding, or to tear apart chimney plants to eat, but if threatened, the entire herd will back into a circle, facing outwards with their horns. The Greatfang is one of the few predators that dares stalk the Wurundor, but the Karghaz hunt them and sometimes (only rarely) tame them and use them to carry small shrines containing the tribe's Marok.
