Chapter 9 - Telepathy
"Howse everyone doing?"
"Couldn't be better. How are you doing?"
"Hanging in there one day at a time. I can't go anywhere in this darn foresaking town with out being noticed or being asked how Brian is doing. It's like they think he and I could never split up. Did you know we were voted "Mostly Likely the First Couple to get Married. It sucks. Plus I can't go anywhere without your fiancee's band's fans spotting me. Plus they already know that Brian and I aren't together any more."
"Calm yourself and slowdown. You're babbling. It's going to be alright. Things will blow over when its time."
"That's easy for you to say Kristin. Your social acceptance is sealed with Kevin's diamond on your ring and your nuptials coming close to their dates. Me, on the other hand, I am a social outcast and because my lame ass ex-boyfriend soon to be your cousin-in-law broke off our relationship."
"Charm look at it this way. Your my maid of honor and he is Kevin's best man. You two will have to walk down the aisle in the ceremony. Then you'll have one last chance to be with him."
"I don't want to walk down the aisle with him. That was suppose to be us a couple years ago. Now it's not," Charmony cried. It wasn't far to her that one of her best friends is marrying into Brian's family. It wasn't fair at all. She was already suppose to be in it but now that she and Brian weren't together, it just didn't seem fair to her being in any ceremony, "You didn't tell anyone I was your maid of honor? Did you?"
"I told Kev."
"You WHAT?"
"Don't worry I told him not to tell anyone. I told him I wanted it to be a surprise for everyone. I also told him that you wouldn't be in any of the rehearsals but would be in the real ceremony and to not tell even Brian. As far as I know he's kept his word."
"I can't believe I am doing this, but because it is your wedding and you are the only best friend I have that hasn't betrayed me, I guess I owe you this."
"Darn tooting," Kristin laughed which made Charmong laugh.
"KW?"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks!!"
"For what?"
"For being my emotional support."
"No problem!! That's what best friends do."
"Well, Thanks anyway. I need to go my sister's baby is crying. See you at the wedding."
*Orlando*
"Where is she? Why hasn't she called? Damn it doesn't she know she has me going crazy? Why hasn't she called?" Brian asked for the zillionth time since Charmony left AJ and his apartment almost two months ago.
"You got to chill Rok. She'll come around again. Just give it some time," Kevin told Brian, Give until my wedding day, he thought smuggly, You'll definitely see her then.
"Kev's right man. She'll come around she just needs time to heal," Nick added.
Brian glared at Nick. Nick was the one who advised him to ditch his girlfriend. "Oh really 'Mr. Let-Her-Go-and-See-if-She-Comes-Back'?"
"Yes, Really. You should have expected this much from her. Knowing all about her life that you do, I would have expected you would have given her time to heal."
Laughing came from the background of the room and the three men turned toward, "You are never going to get her back, Rok. You've hurt her ego and you've hurt her pride. She's too good for you."
"What the hell are you talking about Bone?"
"Do you actually think she will give you another chance?"
"Yes, she will. I know my Charm and she hasn't failed me once."
"That's where you are wrong. She already gave you another chance after finding out that you sleep with her whorish best friend. Now you break up with her and expect things to be so hunky-dory. That's not how the real world works." AJ vented his anger towards Brian, "I was in the same position you are in five years ago. I screwed up and she threw me away. I doubt she'll give you another chance."
"You don't know her. You have been with her your whole life. You don't share the same birthday or the same age.You weren't there for all of her firsts. You don't know what she is thinking twenty-four hours a day. You don't know what's she's thinking about right now. I do and I don't have a clue as to where she is. And I'll be damned if I have to hear an asshole like you saying you think you know all about her because you don't have a DAMN CLUE!!"
"I don't have a clue? I DON'T HAVE A CLUE? YOu say you've been there for her firsts? You may have had the first kiss, the first hug, the first smile, the first laugh and the first sex. But now you are the cause of her FIRST BROKEN HEART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" AJ raged on, "I was the one who picked up the pieces. I was the one who begged her not to leave. I was the one who was in love with her and had to sleep in the room next door and her you have sex night after night for the last four months and I don't have a clue? No you're wrong!!!You're the one who doesn't have a clue!! You know what she's thinking then tell me what is she thinking at this very moment?" AJ said on the verge of pummulling Brian's face
Brian paused for a moment. Concentrating very hard trying to figure out what she is thinking. His eyes popped open, "She's in Lexington. Sitting on a bridge comptemplating whether to jump or not. She thinks I don't love her anymore. She thinks if the twins hadn't died that we would still be together. That she and I would be married by now," his eyes widen with shock, "She doesn't want to be in Kevin's wedding as Kristin's maid of honor because she can't bare walking down the aisle with me if we're not together anymore." Brian looked up at Kevin with tears in his eyes, "Kev, She's at Coggs Crossing. She's going to kill herself and because she thinks I don't love her anymore." Tears were falling from his eyes and also from Kevin's eyes.
AJ looked on in shock. No one except him knew that Charmony was in Lexington. He didn't even say anything about that. "Are you sure that's what she's thinking," he asked nervously.
Brian nodded his head, "You claim to believe that I'm just a selfish bastard AJ, but I'm not. I care about her more than my life and now she won't be apart of it."
Kevin knew Brian and Charmony always pyschically connected in stressful and needful times. "Rok try and mentally convince her not to jump. Tell her you are on your way and you are not going to let her die. Tell her you were wrong and that you love her."
Brian nodded his head and began concentrating, squeezing his eyes shut.
*Lexington*
Charmony was at Coggs Crossing standing on the bridge on the ledge and about to take a leap for her life. Life wasn't worth living anymore now that Brian was out of it, Good bye Lucky, She thought.
Charm, Baby don't jump!! Please don't jump, a voice jumped into her head. She recognised who it was. It was Brian, I'm so sorry Baby. I'm so sorry.
Lucky!?!
Yeah Baby, It's me!!
Where are you?
In Orlando. Baby Please don't jump!! I love you!! I miss you. I'm so sorry for breaking up with you. I needed some alone time and didn't know what to do.
Lucky I'm so scared. I don't want to jump!! I need you!!
I need you too Baby. I need you too. Step off the ledge and on to the pavement on the bridge. Please Baby get back onto the bridge.
Charmony nodded her head knowing Brian would see it. Now that there were psychically link together telepathetically. I did it!! She said stepping back.
Good Girl. Now I want you to open your purse and call me in Orlando baby. I want everyone to know you are alright and I want to see you at that wedding. I want to be able two walk side by side!!
Alright Lucky, I'll call you. I'm sorry!! I just missed you so much!! I couldn't bare to leave with out you!! My life is worthless without you!!
My life is no picnic either without you baby!! You and I are going to have a talk when you make this call.
I know!! I just don't know how you knew I was jumping. We have connected like this into fourteen years.
You always connect to me when you're scared and alone. How do you think I always show up at places where you least expect me and save you!! You're my baby girl. I could never hurt you intentionally. EVER

Brian came back to the physical plane he was on in Orlando and looked at everyone. "She's goining to call in 5-4-3-2-ring- 1," he said silently as the livingroom phone rang and he picked up the receiver with a smile on his face.
*Phone conversation*
Charm: I'm sorry
Brian: Don't be. I'm the one who should be sorry. You left thinking I didn't love you anymore.
Charm: I should have known you would connect with me just as soon as I was about to jump off the Coggs Crossing Bridge.
Brian: I was trying to prove a point top AJ.
Charm: (laughing) And exactly what point was that?
Brian: That I knew you better than anyone else could because of our bond that we have.
Charm: Well, you are right about that bond. If it hadn't been for you I would be splaid across the chasm rock in the forge below the bridge in pieces.
Brian: You scared me with not say good-bye when you left.
Charm: I know and I am really sorry. I just really didn't to get away and think. Then today I was on the phone with Kristin and it reminded me of something and I felt low and just wanted to die.
Brian: You're lucky that I connected in time. Do you know what number this attempt was?
Charm: No!! What number?
Brian: This is your 21st suicide attempt!! You can't keep doing that Charm. You've been doing things like these since junior high.
Charm: I know!! It just gets hard to live through the pain!! When you broke up with me I thought I had lost my family. You're home to me Brian. You always have been. I thought I lost you and it felt exactly the same way when Mom and Dad caught shot and killed by that mad man.
Brian: (sighs) I want you to take the next flight out of Lexington and come down here.
Charm: I'm already boarding the plane. You know you really should shut your thoughts off even when you think they aren't on. I can read them right now.
Brian: (snorts) Then I'm leaving for the airport right now. I should get there just as your plane is landing.
Charm: Always protecting me? Ain't chya?
Brian: Darn Tootin'. So will you be my escort at Kev's wedding.
Charm: Nope, I'll be your bride!!
Brian: What?
Charm: I talked to Kristin again before I went to the bridge. I told here that if there ever was achance that you and I got back together that there would be a double wedding.
Brian: What?
Charm: Ask Kev, it was his idea in the first place. He suggested it to Kristin and Kristin suggested it to me and I agreed. It was suppose to be one big surprise.
Brian: You're kidding right?
Charm: No, I'm not. By this time Friday, you and I should be man and wife. That is if you still want to marry me? After all these years of being engaged?
Brian: I wouldn't want to have it any other way.
