Chapter 8 - Moving On
A couple weeks had passed since Brian broke up with Charmony. Charmony was heartbroken and decided to move back to Lexington, Kentuckey. She need, what was left of, her family to support her. AJ had begged for her not to return to Kentuckey but there was no budging Charmony from her set goal. She packed her bags and set them by the door. Then walked around AJ's and Brian's apartment to look for some forgotten items. She found nothing. She called a taxi and waited for it to come.
AJ walked through the door to see Charmony's bags and suit cases. "So, you really are going to do this? You're leaving Florida," he asked a little hurt.
"Yes, I am. I need my family or whatever is left of it," Charmony said simply. Her father died of cancer. Her mother died of heartache. She didn't have any grandparents left and all she had left was her sisters and brothers, and nieces and nephews. Brian was the only person who actually felt like home to her and now even that was gone.
"You now you're always welcome here. Charmony just because you two aren't together, it doesn't mean he doesn't care about you or that everyone else doesn't care about you. You're important to all of us."
"It's not that. I know everyone cares about me. It's about moving on. How can I move on if everything that I worked so hard for is in this apartment, in this state, and in this career, if I don't move out? I can't!! That's why I'm leaving!! Lucky has made it very clear that he doesn't want me around. He claims that he doesn't want to add to my depression but that's exactly what he's doing." She heard the taxi's horn being blown. "That's me. I have to go. Tell everyone I love them and I'll contact them when I feel better." She kissed AJ on the cheek, grabbed her bags, and walked out of the apartment hoping to never stepfoot in Florida again.
*Two Hours Later*
"CHARM!!!" Brian screamed while walking into the apartment. "CHARM. YOU'LL NEVER BELIEVE...." he began as he ran to her room and saw all her belongings gone, "what happened to me today," he saidly finished.
"If you're looking of Charmony. She's not here. She's gone," AJ confirmed what Brian didn't believe, "She left two hours ago."
"What do you mean she left two hours ago?"
"She's not coming back either," AJ confirmed yet again.
"What do you mean Bone? Where did she go?"
"She moved out of the state. She's not going to contact anyone either until she feels comfortable. I hope you're happy."
"Bone, What are you getting at?"
"She left because of you. She says she can't be in this apartment, or in Florida or in the entertainment career because everything reminds her of you. Damn it Rok. You broke her heart!! The one thing you had going for you is gone because you decided to be selfish and keep your distance from her."
"Well, where did she go?"
"She went back."
"Back? Back where?"
"She didn't say," AJ lied and left the apartment to go on a date.
"What have I done?" Brian asked himself, "I hurt her. The only person who I could see living my life with is gone. AJ's right, I was being selfish. Damn it, He's not suppose to do that. He's not suppose to be right when it comes to Charmony! I am!"
