Chapter 14

Brian, Nick, Kevin, and Howie were startled when they heard the front door open and then slam shut. They were even more surprised to see Charmony enter through the door when she left with AJ through it not a mere four hours ago.

The look on her face was like stone. She stopped for only a minute to compose herself than ran up the stairs to AJ's apartment. Once inside she slammed his bedroom door and broke down crying. While crying she scoured the room for her suitcase and to gather her belongings. She was too busy to hear the soft knocking on the bedroom door or to hear it open and close.

"Serves me right for hurting Lucky. It serves me right for destroying everything that meant something to me," she muttered to herself while she packed up her suitcase, "Why didn't I go with my gut the first time and stay the hell away from Alex," she continued muttering to herself. She still hadn't reazlized that someone was in the room with her.

"If I move back home and get my modeling career started again, then maybe things will return back to mormal. Who was I to think I could keep up with Alexander the Great and the rest of the famous popular society. My chances were better when I had faith in myself," she wallowed even more in herself pity. "There's no way I'm going to grovel at Lucky's feet and beg him to take me back," she said dismissing the notion she had earlier with AJ at the bowling/pool hall.

"So you're leaving," a familiar voice asked breaking into her verbal thoughts. Charmony turned around to see Brian with his arms crossed over his chest, back leaning against the wall adjoining AJ's bedroom.

Charmony's face turned five shades of red. "Um...um...how much did you just hear," she asked avoiding answering the question just asked of her.

Brian's face scrunched into a pensive state. Should he be honest or should he lie? He decided with the truth, "All of it," he said in a low voice.

Charmony felt really small now. Smaller than small, she felt almost invisible. "Great, my day couldn't get any better," she muttered again and broke into another round of sobs.

"Charm? What happened? Did you and Bone have a fight?" Brian asked concerned now that Charmony had started crying.

Charmony tried drying her tears with the back of her hands, "No, We didn't have a fight. I just got tired of being invisible while being out on a date."

Brian gave a wiery smile, nodding in agreement Charmony. Then he thought he'd try cracking a joke, "I thoughtI was the only one who called him Alexander the Great?"

Charmony laughed, "You call him that?" She asked in disbelief.

Brian laughed too. "Yeah for about a month now." Then he turned serious, "You're leaving," he asked again.

"Yeah! I think it's for the best. I've caused nothing but problems. I'm bad luck. I'm better off by myself. I need to see my sisters and brothers."

"Whatever happened to groveling at my knees," Brian joked. Charmony's eyes bugged. "I'm only joking Charm. You know I would never make you grovel and beg."

"But I've messed up so bad. I wouldn't ever take myself back if I were me."

"Do you remember what your mom said the weak before she and your dad were killed," Brian asked. Charmony shook her head "no." "She said, 'You two are soul mates, star-crossed lovers.'Do you remember any of it now," he asked. She a "no" response, " She also said, 'You'll always have each other. Remember that you two will be together until the end. No pain or separation is going to change that. You'll always find a way to get back to each other. Even after your father and I are gone. He'll be the only home you need.'," Brian paused. "We could be separated for years Charm. We could screw up time and time again and still be there for each other. Why? Because we're meant to be together no matter what. So what if we make mistakes that we regret. The only things that matter are these," he pointed to her head and heart along with his.

Charmony broke down and cried. She hadn't expected to hear a speech. She hadn't expected to be forgiven by Brian so quickly. What she had expected was a "never come near me again," speech.

Brian had spread his arms out away from his chest and started walking towards Charmony. "Come here," he gently demanded. Charmony obeyed silently and ran into the welcoming embrace, burying her head into his chest and wrapping her arounds around his upper torso. She held onto him as if her were her life-support.

"What am I going to do," Charmony asked after being quiet for almost a half hour.

"Going to do about what," Brian asked gently.

"I feel like a yo-yo Lucky. It feels like I'm being swing from you to Alex several times. I can't stay in Florida. I'll be drawn to Alex again. I can't let that happen."

"Then you and I will just have to move in together somewhere not in Florida."

"You don't mean..."

"We'll do whatever you want to do. It's your call. If you want to be near your brothers and sisters, I'll move back to Lexington. If you want somewhere else, then we'll move there. We'll go wherever you want to go. I'm not complete unless I'm with you."

Charmony sighed a sigh of relieve. "Not Georgia. We are not moving there. I don't want to move back home and I definitely do not want to stay in Florida."

Brian laughed, "Well we have 47 more states to choose from. Just named the state and I'll start searching." He leaned in and kissed Charmony and felt bliss and peace.

Brian and Charmony's relationship just started again and there was nothing to stop them from being together forever. Who knows what the future will bring for them but nothing is going to stop them from trying to have a happy one.
