Chapter 13

Brian was kicking himself for letting AJ get the better of him. AJ was now wrapped up with Charmony and there was nothing Brian could do to stop him. Charmony was all wrapped up in the world of Alexander The Great as Brian started calling AJ. It hurt Brian deeply to see Charmony all over AJ. Charmony was suppose to be with him...not Tatoo-boy.

"Hello Mom," Brian sighed into the telephone.

"It's Charmony again? Isn't it," Jackie asked her son. This was the thirtith time he had called her in a week. "Darling. Just let her go and see if she comes back. After all you have been her only boyfriend and lover in her life. Maybe this is just God's way of testing you to see if you two really were meant to be."

Brian sighed in defeat. His mother had a point. Everything happened for a reason. AJ and Charmony clashing into each other in the hospital had begun this test and it kept on continuing. "How can I be strong and just wait patiently Mom. Everytime I see them together I get so riled up that I go into a rage."

"Darling," Jackie feigned anger, "I'm your mother. I've been alive a lot longer then you have. I have seen you and Charmony grow up together. Her mother and I grew up together. You're the only thing Charmony knows. This is just her way of exploring the world. Whether it be with Alex or anyone else you have to give her time to find herself."

"Thanks Mom," Brian said with the roll of his eyes.

"Now don't call me for another two months," Jackie joked. "I think you used up the twice a day calling plan we set up."

*AJ and Charmony*

"I was thinking maybe we could go to a club tonight," AJ suggested.

"Alex all we ever do is go clubbing," Charmony complained. "It was fun the first couple of weeks. Then it got old when I saw you hitting on men in a drunken state misinterpreting them for women. Can't we do something else like go bowling or play pool?"

AJ's eyes lit up at the mentioning of bowling and pool. He considered himself a master at the two sports. "Sure we could do that. How about both?"

"Really? You mean it? We can go?" Charmony asked and AJ nodded his head.

At the bowling/pool hall, things had gotten worse. Charmony thought AJ would teach here how to play, but that didn't work. AJ just kept looking around and flirting with the attractive young women who walked past them.

Charmony let out an angry sigh. AJ turned around and looked at her surprised. "What are you doing here," he asked in shock.

That was the last straw. The past two months had been horrible. Now she was just about ready to go grovel back to Brian. Anything was better then seeing AJ drunk and hitting on other women with her with him. "You brought me here," she practically screamed. "Or did you just forget that," Charmony asked sarcastically.

AJ's eyes widened at realization. "Charm, Baby, I'm so sorry."

"Save it," Charmony snapped. "I can't believe I gave up everything for this. Two months Alex. Two Months! I'm tired of it. All you have done is take me to night clubs, pool halls, and bars. Whenever we go out you hit on other women. I've had enough. I'm going home, getting back to work, and moving on because obviously this isn't working out," she finished pointing at him and herself. She walked out of the bowling/pool hall and out of AJ's life.
