Courtyard
You step outside into the Courtyard. They could've escaped into the village by climbing up the walls. That way, they could easily make it back to the Rocket's HQ.
The Charizard Stables are open for the night, and Charizards are wandering all over the Courtyard. You could use one to check out the village from an aerial point of view.
You spot a wooden door across from you. The Courtyard is directly linked to King Pikachu's Battle Fort. If someone snuck out, the leader there, SailorFlareon, was bound to have spotted them. Maybe you should check with her.
