~The Rain~
~I walked in the rain today
~and all of our memories came flooding back~
~Our time of laughter, and of tears~
~Of joy and of our sadness~
~We spent so many hours talking and sharing~
~So many times you just held me and others~
~were spent in quiet times of me knowing~
~you were just there beside me.~
~I look back now and realize the loss of you.~
~Wondering what I could have done to change things~
~and then I see how it happened, and see that nothing~
~could have changed it. Life goes on sometimes without us~
~The rain poured down like my tears~
~and washed away the pain of those memories~
~even though they will always be within me~
~I can now heal and remember the best times we shared.~
~The rain came lightly once again as I walked back into life~
~Life I never thought I would ever enjoy again without you~
~I understand now how you were a part of my history~
~and now to begin the future
~Our memories tucked deep inside my heart~
~to bring out and enjoy when I need them~
~To feel your love, or to just feel again.~
~The rain, washes away the tears.....~
