I was pleased to see you listed my father on your website as a
member of the Class of 1932.
Just wanted to share that my father now has Alzheimer's. One
of the traits of this cruel disease is that the victim may
forget recent information, but has recall of distant memories.
He will talk from time to time about grade school and high
school. He's an amazing individual, and we've been very
blessed to have had him around as long as we have. I don't
know how many members of the Class of '32 are in touch with
you, but I'd be interested in talking with anyone who knew my
Dad in Cushing. He worked for the newspaper after graduating
(as well as before), and married Eula Mae Hink December 25,
1940 in Cushing. He was in the Navy during WWII (Pacific). On
their return, they stopped in Shawnee, and he took a job as a
linotype operator for the Shawnee News-Star, where he worked
until retirement in 1979. Mom and Dad continue to live in
Shawnee. My sister and I are very proud of both of them.
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who might have known my
father during his Cushing years. Thanks for such a great
website.
Best,
Walter Jenny Jr.
