Without a doubt, one of McFarlane's most shining of moments was when he signed with Hideo Kojima to produce figures for, quite possibly, the greatest game ever made! Metal Gear had everything you could hope to expect from a million dollar film with more than a film could ever offer. These figures stand a testament to all who went through every moment of the game with Snake, each character and accessory brings back all sorts of memories and favorite moments... By far one of the most dramatic things I've ever seen! Not that I don't get out mind you, it's just THAT intense! Nothing pulls you in as completely as this. Naturally being THIS good a game, the merchandise as meager in size as it was, became highly sought after by collectors of actions figures and hardcore gamers desperately seeking a memento of their incredible adventure. What I have is almost the entire collection, and I've got them up for review. As soon as things are fixed with my cable modem I'll have them put up. For now, the old images will have to suffice. Sorry! >_<
Revolver Ocelot
Accessories: Comes with torture rack for "interrogating" Solid Snake & Meryl. Also comes with 2 revolvers which both look very nice :)
Figure: He has one holster on his right side which can hold 1 revolver, his right hand can hold & point the gun or just hold it on his index finger. His left hand can do hold the gun in some way cool poses, but getting them to work is trick. In fact the finger guard on one the Single action army revolvers snapped off to never be found while trying to get it into one of his twirling gun trick poses from the game. Be wary, those things ARE FRAGILE! His coat is rubbery for a well done realistic effect and with some work, can be removed which to say the least is really cool, the effect would have been much better had the sleeves been able to come off as well showing the white long sleeved uniform shirt he had under the vest her wears, but no matter, it's still more than I expected. Snake is much easier to tie down than Meryl and though it's really cool, the only problem is that the fold-down legs that stand the torture table up are pretty weak. Overall a nice figure to add to your collection, not quite a must have though, but not bad. He's the second easiest to find even now with the series from the sequel is on the horizon.
Sniper Wolf
Accessories: Raven comes with a large base since he's so weighed down by his stupidly huge ammo barrel which has a belt of ammo threading out the side into his massive chain gun. Would be nice if he came with the tank he used against Snake in their first encounter. ^_^
Figure: Raven is BIG. Biggest of the MGS figures and composed of some seriously dense material. Poseability is NOT his strong suit as he is limited to only the articulation necessary need to hold his weapon. To use him effectively it is required that he be equipped with his ammo barrel and chaingun, which if you contact your buddies w/ the codec you'll learn is in fact only supposed to be used on an aircraft as opposed to one person wielding it. Then due to his possibly being overweighed and tipping over, it is recommended that you mount him on his base (wish ALL the figures in this series had bases!).
NOTE: In MGS2, you'll see at least 2 McFarlane Vulcan Raven figures. One near the entrance to the engine room (the one projecting the shadow) and the other in the half sunken basement of Shell 2 on the way to save Emma. Keep in mind that Vulcan raven has no gimmick involving him laughing or shooting. Do yourself a favor and take a picture for Otacon.
Solid Snake
Accessories: Snake is rotten with stuff! He comes with the Socom pistol w/ removable silencer, Gas mask, Night vision goggles, Stinger launcher /w launching missle, C-4 charge, FAMAS rifle and MORE making him the most accessorized figure in the line. And why not?!? He's Snake dammit!!! ^_^
Figure: Super poseable! He totally rocks! One of the most poseable figures I've seen from McFarlane in a LONG time. Snake has incredible detail all about him showing off his various pouches, ammo packets and what-not. And being that he has SO much stuff to work with makes him hours of fun. And besides, Ocelot's torture table was intended with Snake in mind so the fun continues even when interacting with other figures. ^_^ Just don't get kinky.
Meryl Silverburgh
Accessories: Meryl comes with a basic set of her army knife, desert eagle, grappling hook, FAMAS rifle and that's about it. ^_^
Figure: Somehow the face is a little different from those shown in the catalogue, but every aspect of Meryl is nontheless gorgeous!!! Again, much like Sniper wolf, Meryl was also considered somewhat rare since she is the only female in the line.
Psycho Mantis
Liquid Snake
Figure: I dun' have 'im!!!! >_<
Ninja
Background: The viscious gunfighter with a fetish for torture. With mysteries abound surrounding this seemingly thug-like individual who acts as liquid Snake's "right hand" (BWA HA HA HA HA!!!) man seems to be on a side all his own with his motives unclear Snake will have lot of fun dealing with this guy.
Figure: The beautiful sniper who shoots to kill and nothing else for herself. Showing up out of nowhere, her first meeting with Meryl & Snake proves to be one of the more shocking parts of the story... Can Snake outsnipe the perect sniper?
Accessories: Her precious sniping rifle and a wolf with a weird lookin face ^_^'
Comments: Sniper Wolf comes in her Fox-Hound attire seen in the game (note the FOX HOUND logos on the arms of her jacket. Standing about six inches tall, sniper wolf looks great! Hell, she's sexy too... rowr...VERRRRRRRY nice :) Er, anyway I gotta mention that her face doesn't look as much like the character as I'd prefer, but I'm not complaining.^_^ The jacket reveals an impressive amount of cleavage, her right hand has a small hole for the peg sticking out of the gun's handle, her left hand can't do much except help out with a pose in which it holds the scope of the rifle while the right hands points the gun down and to her left. She has 8 points of articulation at her wrists, elbows, shoulders, waist and neck. Tekyu's opinion? SHE RULES!!!! I seriously recommend her. Wolf could look better and she should come with one or two more accessories, but as is, she's VERY nice. She's somewhat hard to find, but that's only due to demand for the babes of MGS.

Vulcan Raven
The Shaman behemoth, who talks in a very spiritual and mystic manner whilst his massive tatooed body and vulcan chaingun speak a ver different language.
The would be hero who always gets the job done, but has some trouble letting go of the past is once again brought into combat, but against his will and in circumstances totally unknown to him... Forced into battle alone... Snake steps up to impossible odds to save the world, or so he thinks...
The Colonel's niece, an aspiring fan of FOX-HOUND who enters the military to become a hero worthy of her dead father's memory. She meets Snake, helps him out and for awhile becomes his partner in justice... Along the way, their relationship becomes maybe a little more than professional, but a lot of things can happen on a base with a monstrous Mecha guarded by seemingly inhuman enemies...
The deranged psychic psychotic, from stiched, scarred head to leather strapped toe he is an unsettling creature indeed... Be amazed by his power over your controller :)
Ninja (clear stealth edition)
The mysterious totally out of place seeming, cyborg Ninja who tracks Snake to the base in the middle of his mission to settle a long lasting grudge... a grudge that even death itself could not let go...
Accessories: Ninja comes with 2 different heads, one with his faceplate open and the other closed. His totally sweet energy sword which plugs into his right thigh. And finally if you pop off the right elbow to forearm area, you can put in its place the arm cannon he used against Metal Gear Rex.
Figure: Well, he frickin' rules to be short! But sadly, the paint on mine got into the joint on the left arm and when I tried to move his arm it weakened the plastic and *SNAP!* It was at first EXTREMELY distressing since I went through a lot of trouble to get this guy and here he goes and loses his arm... ARRGH!!!! BUT there is an upside! Due to his arm loss, I plan to whip out the acrylic paint and recreate the scenes just moments before his heroic death, and with swappable heads, it makes this even easier! ^_^ Note this shot
Solid Snake's brother, the one he never knew about. The leader of the rogue FOX-HOUND agents who have taken hold of the base and occupied it with their Genome soldiers. EVERY step of the way, Liquid stands laughing at every attempt of Snake to extinguish his life. Fueled by a revenge Snake knows nothing about, Liquid is willing to sacrifice everything he has in order to kill Snake... But why?
A mysterious cyborg Ninja sporting the camoflague Otacon developed, that somehow knows Snake and demands a battle with him.
