"Your move," Luigi said once he had moved his checkers piece. "I'm bored," Mario sighed. "Bowser hasn't made any attacks for a year now." Mario was a super hero legend. Like his brother, Luigi, he was an Italian plumber. They had saved Luigi's girlfriend, the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, Peach, about five times now. They were so famous, that many video games and even a movie had been made about them. Of course, this sickened King Bowser Koopa, the king of the Koopa Kingdom, the Mushroom Kingdoms biggest enemy. It also frustrated his second in command, Wart, and his wife, Queen Lena. "I know what I'll do!" Mario cried to Luigi. He sprang up, accidentally knocked over the checkers board, and began jumping up and down like the idiot he is. "I'll go to his castle and kidnap Lena!" "Mario!" Luigi exclaimed. "That's just so…..evil." "I know. So, are you with me? We can bring Peach along, too. And Yoshi! We need all the help can get!" "Welll….okay," Luigi agreed. Suddenly they heard a noise. It sounded like an automatic screw driver. "What was that?" Mario asked, alarmed. "Oh, I'm sure it was nothing," Luigi said casually. "Let's make some more plans." "They're coming, King Bowser! Here they are! They're coming!" one of Bowser's many goombas called out. "Excellent," Bowser said evilly. "Lena, Wart, come quickly." Lena and Wart rushed into the den where Bowser sat. "Yes?" they asked in unison. "Is everything ready?" "Yes, dear. Why, are they here?" Lena looked excited. This was her first time to really meet Mario, Peach, Luigi, and Yoshi, their pet dinosaur. She couldn't wait to kill them. "Well, here we are." Mario approached the huge doors that were the entrance to Bowser's domain. What Mario and his friends didn't know was that the mechanical sound he and Luigi had heard was one of Bowser's many cameras he had set up all over the Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser was awaiting his arrival. Ding-dong! "I'll get it!" Lena walked to the door and answered the ringing noise. There indeed stood Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi. "Why hello," she said in a fake, sweet voice. "Do come in." Mario and his pals entered cautiously. "You must be Mary," Lena said, extending out her hand to Mario. "Well, actually it's Mario." "Of course. And you must be Cherry." Lena shook Peach's hand. "How do you do? And by the way ma'am, it's Peach." "Yes, yes, of course." Lena turned to Luigi. "How are you, Luddy?" "Luigi." "Fine, fine." Lena turned to Yoshi last. "Hi there, Yippi." "Hi!" "Let me introduce myself. I'm Queen Lena Koopa. You may call Mrs. Koopa, but I prefer Queen Lena, seeing that I'm superior to you and all." The four friends exchanged looks. Suddenly Wart appeared behind Lena. "Well, well, well. What do we have here?" Lena turned around, slightly startled. "Oh, Wart, we have visitors from the Mushroom Kingdom! This here is Marsha, Apple, Lukey, and Yifty." Lena pointed her finger at each one as she called out their names. "It's nice to meet you all." Wart shook their hands, then turned and called out, "Oh, King Bowser, we have guests!" Bowser came to the hallway. "Hello, Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Peach." He smiled at them all, pretending to be their friend. Yet even through his charm you could see an evilness, a coldness, in his black eyes. "I am so glad you came. I have been feeling so terrible since that whole Mario 64 ordeal. You'll forgive me, won't you?" Mario raised his eyebrows high, not knowing whether or not to believe him. "Um, dear?" Lena tapped Bowser's shoulders. "Dear, I believe you've gotten their names wrong. It's Yipper, Grape, Mallory, and Ludley." "No, I could have sworn that it was Yifter, Liddy, Strawberry, and Maggie," Wart corrected. "No, you all are both wrong. It's Yikke, Leengwiny, Banana, and Madelyne," Bowser stated confidently. "No, it's not!" Lena said defiantly. "Why don't we ask them?" Wart cut in. Bowser and Lena stopped immediately and looked sheepish. Lena turned to Mario and his friends. "Uhhh, I know this is a little late and all, but what are your names?" Mario spoke up. "Well, I'm Mario, and these are my friends, Peach and Yoshi, and my brother, Luigi." "Some names," Wart muttered. "Like I said, Mario, Peach, Luigi, and Yoshi," Bowser said. Lena snorted. "Right dear." "I did!" "Okay, well, why don't we all sit down?" Lena suggested. "The den is this way." Lena led the way, and Bowser and Wart brought up the rear. Once they were all seated, Bowser asked, "So, Mario-" "Why don't I get us all some martinis?" Lena interrupted. As she stood up to head toward the kitchen, she winked at Bowser and Wart, just to let them know that she was following the plan. Lena hurried off to the kitchen. "As I was saying before I was interrupted, what brings you here, Mario?" Bowser stared straight into Mario's eyes and waited. "Here we go!" Lena's voice boomed, and Mario jumped a mile high, startled. Mario suddenly realized that he didn't have a plan. "One martini with grapes for you, Apple. One with with no fat for Marlinda here. No offense dear, it's just, well, heh." Lena looked at Mario's stomach in disgust, then moved. "Here's one with licorice for you, Loogee, and one with yogurt for Yuggy here. One with no calories for Wart-" "Thank you, Queen Lena." "Your quite welcome, Wart. And one regular with, of course, a paper umbrella for you, Bowser. Oh! And one plain with a cherry on the side for me." Lena sat down and began to sip her martini. "Umm, Queen Lena Koopa, ma'am, may I have a paper umbrella?" Peach asked. "NO!" Lena barked. "They are only for King Bowser." Lena turned to King Bowser and gave him a smile sweet enough to melt butter. Then she turned to Peach, and said in a low, evil voice, "So drink up sweetheart." Peach gulped, and smiled nervously, then stammered, "Y-y-yes-s-s m-m-ma'am." Peach took a huge swig of her drink, just to show Lena she was drinking, she was! All of a sudden, Peach felt very dizzy. The whole room spun, and she was greatly confused. "What's the matter, peach deary?" Lena asked mockingly. She then slung her head back and cackled evily. Bowser and Wart were busy holding the two meddling plumbers back. The two Italian brothers were shouting out, "What's going on? Peach, are you okay?" Peach tried to reply, but blacked out. She fell on the floor, her whole body limp. Yoshi, who had been sitting there cluelessly, squealed and ran over to Peach. But Bowser was way too smart for him. Yoshi charged right at Bowser, but Bowser stuck his fist right up and Yoshi ran smack-dab into it. "Duuuuhhhhh…." Yoshi moaned as he hit the floor. "See the pretty bird, pretty bird." "Moron," Bowser and Wart snorted. Then they dragged Mario and Luigi, kicking and screaming, away to the execution room. "Say your prayers, you stupid fools! How dare you mess with the mighty Bowser!!! Hahahahahaahaha!!!" Nothing else was heard but the sound of a knife slicing and an excruciating scream. "Wait, you forgot Yoshi and Peach!!!" Lena called after them. She sighed, then dragged them to the execution room. The two victims were still unconscious when Lena finally had them in there. "You forgot two," Lena reprimanded them. "Ooppsss," Wart said as he grabbed Yoshi into the next room, the fire pit. He quickly tossed him in, but all we heard was the splash, because Yoshi was still unconscious. Bowser started for Peach, but Lena darted in front of him. "I don't think so. Number 1, I want to kill the little brat, and Number 2, you are not going to be holding her, killing her or not." Lena grabbed Peach's limp body and dragged her to the pit of fire. SPLASH! Lena brushed her hands together and smiled triumphantly. "There!" Bowser, Wart, and Lena all grinned at each other, perfectly satisfied with their victory. Five Years Later "You know Lena, it's really too bad we killed Mario. Now I have no one to fight with!" Bowser moaned. Lena chuckled softly. "Oh, dear. Here we go again." THE END
