PITTSBURG COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE

DEPUTYS INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY
In addition to performing their regular duties, the Deputys of the Pittsburg County Sheriffs' Department, both Full-Time and Reserve, are actively involved in projects within the county. Below you will find some photos of Pittsburg County Deputys doing what they love to do, interracting with the citizens they have sworn to serve and protect.
One of the primary functions of the Pittsburg County Reserve Deputys is to provide Pittsburg County parents with accurate records which would help identify their children, in the event they are lost or missing. They do this by carrying out the KidCare I.D. Program, which is sponsored by Sheriff Steve Burrows and The Bank, N.A. of McAlester. So far during 1999, approximately 700 children have been printed and photographed during these events. The prints and photographs are then given to the parents for their records.
TOTAL LIVING SHOW/EXPO CENTER/04-17-99
On this sunny but windy Saturday, we were fortunate to be able to be a part of the Total Living Show, which was held at the new Pittsburg County Expo Center. In conjunction with the Pittsburg County Sheriffs Association, and our KidCare Sponsors, The Bank, N.A. at Wal-Mart, 175 children were printed and photographed during the all-day event. Reserve and Full-Time deputys, along with Bank N.A. employees and civilian volunteers, conducted the successful event throughout the day. One of our hardest workers turned out to be none other than Undersheriff (now Sheriff) Steve Burrows, who pitched in and did a fine job of printing.

In addition to the KidCare function, there was a display to let the citizens know how much the Pittsburg County Sheriffs Association assists their Sheriffs Department. One of the highlights of the display section of the booth was one of the "new" patrol units recently acquired through great effort on the part of many along with the Administrative staff of the Sheriffs Office.

Our many thanks go to the people who made this all come together for the benefit of the citizens of Pittsburg County: Ms. Liz Hackler and the ladies from The Bank, N.A., Undersheriff (now sheriff) Steve Burrows, Executive Officer (now Under Sheriff) Loyd Wadley, Sheriffs Office Staff Jana McCracken and Sue Williamson, Deputy Kevin Hammons, Volunteers Naomi Polansky, Carol Fiedler, and Chris Fiedler, Rebecca Glenn, and last but certainly not least, our Reserve Deputys, Jimmy Wood, DeLane Arrington, Roy Rodgers Sandra Young,Cyndi Hendrix, Jane Rayburn, and Brent Young.

Thanks to you all for your help, and a job well done.
