CHAPTER ONE
The teenager with the crazy black spiked hair woke up with sweat pouring down his face. He had the dream again. The boy looked at his watch. It was 4:00 in the morning. "Yeesh," he thought. "Of all the times to wake up. Now I'll never get back to sleep." He sighed. "Oh well. Guess I'll have to get up." he groaned as he pulled himself out of bed. After fixing himself a bowl of Cornflakes, he tried to eat, but he couldn't. Terrible images from his dream flashed through his mind. He kept on seeing a weird Pokemon that looked like a Mew fighting this huge...THING which the boy couldn't see, but the most disturbing image was that of his girlfriend lying helpless on the ground as that creepy Pokemon was about to use a strange (and fatal)attack on her. The boy got furious just thinking of it. "Ash, you up already?" a voice called. He looked up. Misty's head was peering into the kitchen. Over time, Ash and Misty grew close and started going out together. Now that they were in high school, they shared a room in the apartement building. "It's not like you to be up so early," Misty continued, "you're usually asleep until noon." "Thanks for the compliment." Ash said sarcasticly. Misty sat down next to him. "You had that dream again?" Misty asked. Ash nodded unhappily. He'd been having that dream for the past three weeks! "The weird thing is," Ash started, "That dream seems so...so..." he tried to think of the word. "Real?" Misty finished the sentence for him. "Yeah, that's it." Ash nodded. "It seems real because that Mew you see IS real." Misty pointed out. "What?!" he cried. "Don't you remember?" Misty asked, "When we were all traveling together on our Pokemon journey? We ran into that Mew and she told us all about Mewtwo. Then after we found him, she evolved into..." "Chronamew..." Ash cut Misty off. "Now that I think about it, that Mew in my dream did seem pretty familiar." "Anything new happen in your dream?" Misty asked as she boiled some water for tea. "Yeah," Ash thought back. "The Mew was lying there and that thing shot something at it which caused the ground to cave in on itself and Mew slid down into a crack in the ground and the crack closed and..." Ash trailed off. "I can't remember anything else after that." "You know," Misty started as she took the kettle of boiling water off the stove and poured some into her cup, "You might be seeing into the future." "Maybe I am." Ash gave it some thought. "You know, sitting there isn't going to help you finish your Cornflakes." "Uh-oh." Ash thought. He and Misty looked down into his bowl. All the milk had been absorbed into the cereal, which now lay in Ash's bowl clumping together and soon forming one big blob of the stuff. Ash gulped. "Uh, I'm not hungry." Ash gaged. "I didn't take a bite out that...stuff. You want it?" he looked over at Misty. "No way!" she cried. She picked up the bowl of blob using her fingertips, walked over to the garbage can, and tipped the bowl upside-down. The stuff hung onto the bowl for a few minutes, then plopped into the garbage like Jello. Misty shuddered, then cooked up some scrambled eggs. After breakfast (and after debating who's turn it was to take the garbage out), Ash thought about what Misty said about him seeing into the future. If that was true, Mew would still be alive. Plus, in his dream, Misty was placed in terrible danger and nearly killed. If the dream was real, then that part would come true too. After thinking about it, Ash decided it was probably something he had eaten for the past few days. He switched on the TV, but he just couldn't shake that feeling that something terrible was going to happen to Misty and him...very, very soon.
CHAPTER TWO
Somewhere in a void in space, just above the Earth, a dark, mysterious Pokemon stood looking down upon our world. "Ah, so he got my message." the Pokemon thought. It frowned. "I was hoping it would happen in real life...but I'm surprised that it got to him on the account that my energy is so low." It then smiled. "No matter. With that other pesky Pokemon out of the way, I'll have no trouble at all destroying this stupid excuse for a planet." With that, the Pokemon floated gently down to earth.

Ash hopped onto his sky-blue bike and rode down the block towards the library. He had an overdue book that he had to give back. As he crossed the street, he started thinking about his dream. What did it mean? Was someone trying to tell him something, or was it just that pie he had been eating? Ash didn't get to finish the thought though, because the next second, his bike stopped short, as if it had run over something big, and Ash was thrown over the handlebars and onto the pavement, scraping his hands and knees. Grimacing in pain, he pulled himself up and felt something warm trickle down his face. He felt where his face was warm and then pulled it away. Ash's hand was stained in blood. He looked back to see what he had run over...and his eyes met nothing but his bike lying there on its side, one of its wheels still spinning. Ash looked around, then back at his bike and had to use all of his willpower to stop the scream that came up his throat. During the few seconds that he had looked away, someone (or something) had silently bent the handlebars, ripped the seat and wheels off, stolen the library book, and scraped most of the paint off. Ash stared at the bike, then started to run back home. The library book search could wait. He had a feeling that he had just figured out what was going on...

As Ash ran home, the same Pokemon we saw in space floated over his head, watching him. "He thinks he's found it out? Well, I have only begun..."

Misty sighed. Ash had been gone for hours. "Gee, how long does it take to return a book?" she thought, carrying a bowl of cheese-doodles to the TV. Suddenly, Ash exploded into the apartment. Since Misty was in another room, she didn't see him come in. "Ash, is that you?" Misty called. She picked up the bowl and walked into the front room. "You want some cheese doodles-AAAAAAAA!" She dropped the bowl of cheese doodles (which shattered at contact with the ground) and ran over to Ash at the sight of his bloody face. "ASH, WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO YOU?" she screamed. "Long story." Ash breathed. "Misty, what's Brock's phone-number?"

The dark Pokemon looked in through the window and watched Ash call. "So, he's inviting someone else to come and die. Well, you know what they say. 'The more, the merrier.'"

"What I don't understand," Brock started, "is why you guys didn't call me earlier when you first started having this dream." "We just thought it was something he ate." Misty admitted. "Well, obviously, it's not." Brock said. "I think we can all see that, Brock." Ash sighed. "You know," Brock said thoughtfully, "I think I've got an idea of what's happening." "Really?" Ash asked. "Ash, when you fell of your bike, you didn't trip on anything?" "No, I was looking in front of me the entire time." Ash said. "You didn't hit your head on anything either, did you?" "Now that you mention it..." Ash thought about it. "...no, I didn't hit my head at all, but I got this huge cut on it when I fell..." he touched the bandages on his head. "Well, according to you, Ash," Brock started, "I have a strange feeling that it was..." "No," Misty's eyes widened. "You don't think it was..." "You mean it was..." Ash's eyes widened along with Misty's. "Yeah," Brock clenched his teeth. "I think it was Mewtwo..."
