The Latimer County Firefighters Association held the scheduled monthly meeting at the Wilburton City Hall. The meeting was called to order by President Neal Wood.
Members In attendance:
Discussion of Association bank account was hold. Motion mas made by Dwight Glenn to open a bank account at Latimer State Bank. The motion was seconded by Neal Wood. Motion passed.
Discussion of how to announce monthly meetings we held. Motion was made by David Nix, that a notice of the next meeting and the Training Agenda be set to all of the Department Chiefs before prior to each meeting. Motion was seconded and passed.
Neal Wood stated he will request a report from each Department Chief of monthly activities.
Association Goals were discussed.
1. Primary goal is better attendance of different departments. A discussion
of how to achieve this
followed.
2. Provide beneficial activities and training.
The next monthly training was discussed. It was decided that it pumper test will be held at the Wilburton City Lake. All Departments are to bring their pumpers to the next meeting.
New Business
Chris Fiedler provided information on Operation Roundup. This is a Kiamichi Electric Coop program in wich electric bills are rounded up to the nearest dollar amount. 40% of the money collected would go to the Rural Fire Departments. Kathy Huddleston from Kiamichi Electric has requested to attend the next association meeting to explain the program. David Nix made a motion to have her attend the next meeting. The motion was seconded and passed.
An Association family picnic was discussed. Chris Morris and Eric Glenn volunteered to plan and coordinate this event.
Neal Wood encouraged all of the Departments to support the Fourth of July Fireworks at Robbers Cave State Park.
