I don't know if being frugal qualifies as a hobby. To me it is - it provides all the challenges of a real hobby, with a little buzz if you do it right!
For me, being frugal goes hand in hand with being a stay at home mum. If I wasn't frugal, it would be a lot harder to do.
As a Christian, I know that every good thing (and that includes our money) comes from God. It is easier to be frugal when you are shopping with someone else's gift.
There are some great benefits to being frugal. For one, it gives us a real taste of gratefulness. When you are not saturated with treats all the time, you can really be grateful when you do have them now and then.
Of course, there are some things you just can't skimp on, so in my house coffee is a "frugal free zone"!
