A day later, Taylor was arriving at JFK airport, and he was greeted by his family.
Lydia, Joey, Gretchen, and Justin were accompanied by a man in an expensive looking suit who had a blank expression on his face.
"Taylor." He breathed, stepping forward a little. His voice was barely above a whisper, yet it sounded loud and clear to Taylor.
"Mack. Thank you." Taylor gave his youngest brother a bear hug, resisting the act to cry.
"Gretchen." Taylor hugged his oldest, then moving to Lydia, who had tears streaming down her face.
"Don't cry, honey. Everything's going to be ok." Taylor then picked up Joey, giving him a kiss on the cheek, then setting him down and holding Justin for a long moment.
"Are you guys ready to go to Colorado with Uncle Zac, Uncle Ike and me?" Taylor asked his children. They all nodded in unison.
5 hours later, their jet had landed at Colorado National Airport, and they had a limousine waiting for them.
Taylor had never been a father type of guy since he had been away from his children for such a long time, yet he felt that somehow, the whole situation was going to work. The children had adapted to the road after a week or two of doing so, and they had never seemed so connected, so loving towards him. Lydia was turning into a real beauty, and Taylor was considering having her model a little. Gretchen took after her mother, being fairly short and chubby for her age, even though she was still considerably young. Joey was turning into a leader, bossing his older sisters around, while Justin was a handful, and reminded Taylor of Mac when he was Justin's age.
Once, on their way to Sacramento, Taylor caught Lydia curled up in a ball, crying her heart out. Taylor slowly sat down next to his youngest daughter, and slowly stroked her face.
"What's wrong princess?" Taylor asked, knowing very well what was wrong.
"I… I miss mommy." Lydia hiccuped, hugging her father tightly.
"I miss mommy, too… But I'm here now, and nothing's going to change that." Taylor said gently.
"Promise?" Lydia asked, lifting her head up and showing her tear filled eyes.
"Promise."
