The next day, they had another concert in Detroit, once again at the Palace of Auburn Hills. It was an hour before the show started, and screams were already building up on the other side of the curtain.
"Hey Isaac… Listen to this." Chloe said, reading from a teen magazine. "Isaac Hanson: What girl is good for him.
"Ok, Chloe Hanson's going down, and you all know it. So what if Isaac's married? Chloe just married him for the fame and the money, nothing more. She even proposed! So, what kind of girl is Isaac Hanson looking for? Well, the editors at BB did a little research, and here's what we came up with.
"Isaac looks for a girl that has a mind of her own. He's as sweet as Grandmother's homemade apple pie, so all you girls out there better be ready for a guy that does things for you. He thinks the world of his music, so you better be prepared to be second best. He's such a sweet guy, however, that you'll think that you already are number 1 after one date!" Chloe read out loud, almost bursting with laughter.
"You would think that one day these Teeny Boppers would get things right!" Chloe exclaimed.
"You mean, you… you married me because I was famous!" Isaac pretended to gasp, then faint. Chloe just laughed and pushed Isaac off of her shoulder.
"Yeah Ike. That and I had a kid with ya." Chloe quickly moved out of the way as Isaac once again feel down, this time onto the sofa.
"Yeah, whatever… You would think that after 3 years of living with her grandchild your mother wouldn't want to take care of her for a full weekend." Isaac grinned, pulling Chloe into his lap.
"Hey, that's how my mom is… She said something about wanting to meet you the other day." Chloe mentioned casually, sinking back into Isaac's arms.
"Oh really?" Isaac asked, amused.
"Yeah, really. I wouldn't say no to my mom if I were you." Chloe warned. "I may have gotten the short genes in my family, but my mom is TALL."
Isaac raised his eyebrows. "How tall are we talking?"
"Only about half a foot…" Chloe trailed off.
"5'4 is NOT tall." Isaac laughed.
"Isaac, you didn't let me finished." Chloe pouted. "She's only half a foot taller then you."
Isaac's jaw dropped. "You mean your mother is… 6'4?"
Chloe nodded. "Told you I got the short genes."
"I'll say…" Isaac muttered. Chloe pretended to gasp, then slapped him lightly. "Man, why you gotta diss me like that?" she mumbled.
Taylor walked into the room then, with a worried look on his face. "Hey guys? Do either of you know the address 16147 Oakland?"
Chloe raised her hand. "Yeah, what's it worth to you?"
Well, there's a sign out there…" Taylor pointed. "That says '16147 Oakland is going down!'."
Chloe quickly cursed towards herself, then sighed. "Well, the people that live there are going to be in for a big surprise. I moved out of that house years ago."
Isaac laughed. "Want me to get the security guards to get them?"
Taylor's eyes twinkled. "Yeah… And get them to bring them backstage. Them we can grill them!" Chloe laughed.
"Is it just me or are you guys certifiable idiots?" she asked.
"Umm… The latter, I think." Taylor shrugged, just as Zac came running in with Kendall at his heels.
"Yo guys! Guess what!" he almost yelled.
"What Zac?" Isaac rolled his eyes.
"I'm gonna be a daddy!" Zac exclaimed. Kendall blushed, then put her arm around Zac.
"In 8 months, yeah." She added. Chloe jumped up and ran to her best friend, screaming.
"Oh my God!" Isaac yelled, then gave Zac a bear hug. Taylor joined in, nearly squeezing the two to death.
"When did you find out?" Chloe asked.
"Just a few hours ago. I wanted to tell Zac first…" Kendall grinned.
"Oh my God… I can't believe this!" Chloe laughed. "We're both pregnant at the same friggin' time!"
"Yeah, really…" Kendall laughed. "I swear, you're gonna have to show me the ropes, Ms. Sixteen."
"Oh shut up." Chloe laughed, jumping into the pile that was made from the guys. They were all hugging Zac and jumping up and down. Zac finally escaped and gave his wife a hug.
"We're gonna be a family." He whispered.
A few minutes later, the guys were out on stage, singing their hearts out. Kendall and Chloe were waiting in the dressing room, talking about the babies, when suddenly the door opened and a large man appeared.
"Hello, Mrs. Hanson?" he asked. Kendall and Chloe both looked up
"Yes?" they said. They looked at each other, then burst out laughing.
"Uhh, I had a request to bring a fan backstage… She's in the green room if you would like to see her." With that, the guard left. Kendall and Chloe followed him into the green room, where a girl of about sixteen waited.
"Hello?" Chloe asked, approaching the girl.
"Hi…" the girl looked downwards toward her bright yellow shoes.
"So, how did you find out about 16147 Oakland?" Chloe asked.
"My older sister… She was Chloe's friend in Elementary…" the girl whispered.
"What's your name?" Chloe asked.
"Kristen." She answered.
"What's your older sister's name?"
"Gwen." Kristen whispered. Chloe looked confused for a moment.
"What school did she go to?"
"Taylor." Kristen answered. "As in Zachary Taylor?"
"Chloe still doesn't know what you mean." Chloe said, not wanting to tell her which one was Chloe.
"Ok, so I'm guessing you're Chloe?" Kristen pointed towards Kendall.
"Who even says Chloe's in here?" Kendall grinned.
"Because… Umm… Ok, could I please talk to Chloe?" Kristen asked.
"Whatever you want to tell her, you can tell us." Chloe smiled, sitting down across from her.
"Ok, I just wanted to say that my sister says hi, and that she knows your little secret…" Kristen looked confused for a moment. "Something about her husband… Isaac, right? Any ways, don't mind Gwen. She's just a little bit obsessed with the group. Thank you for your time." Kristen smiled.
"Anytime. Oh, and tell Gwen that Chloe said hi." Kendall winked, trying to throw Kristen off.
"Oh, thank you Chloe!" Kristen smiled towards Kendall as Chloe escorted her back into the hallway, where the same man was waiting for her. Once the two were back in the dressing room, Kendall started laughing.
"Gwen? Since when do you know a Gwen?" Kendall laughed.
"That's just it, I never HAVE known a Gwen… Or a Kristen that's 16, for that matter. I've never even gone to Taylor… Man, you've got to hate obsessed ones." Chloe laughed.
"What did she means about knowing your little secret?" Kendall asked.
"I dunno. It's the past, though. I have no idea what's she talking about…" Chloe tried to silently convince herself as she leaned back onto the couch.
"Liar. Come on, I'm your best friend. What's your little secret?" Kendall grinned, scooting closer to Chloe.
"Nothing!" Chloe hissed. Kendall jumped back, surprised.
"Well, obviously it's got to be something. If you want to talk about it…" Kendall shrugged.
"It's all in the past. I don't want to burden you." Chloe sighed, closing her eyes.
"Ok then… I actually have a few questions, as cliché as this sounds… What's it like being huge and knowing that something's actually growing inside of you?" Kendall asked, changing the subject.
"Absolutely wonderful. I mean, my ankles hurt like Hell for the last months, but god, was it worth it…" Chloe's eyes shinned.
"Yeah. I hate being fat, though." Kendall mumbled.
"Trust me. This time, you'll love it." Chloe grinned.
"Man, it had to be tough to have a kid at 16… Why didn't you keep in touch with me?" Kendall asked suddenly.
"It was. I'm sorry I didn't call… I just… Never mind." Chloe mumbled.
"What's wrong?" Kendall asked.
Chloe sighed. "I don't like to mention things that will get people in trouble."
Kendall shrugged. "Like I'll tell anyone."
"I know you won't, but there are security cameras all over this joint…" Chloe pointed out.
"So? Whoever knows your age and about Lila knows that you weren't exactly legal." Kendall muttered.
"That's not what I'm talking about." Chloe sighed.
"Tell me later?" Kendall asked.
"Maybe."
Suddenly, Zac, Taylor, and Isaac burst through the doors, sweaty and breathing hard.
"Whew that was a great concert!" Zac grinned.
"No, really? By the way you acted, it was like your were on top of the world." Taylor teased, turning around and putting on another shirt.
"Well, I was." Zac defended himself, as he also changed into a different shirt. Chloe and Kendall just laughed as the three guys turned around, Zac with his shirt half on, Taylor's face bright red, and Isaac with his shirt half off.
"You guys look hilarious!" Kendall laughed, along with Chloe. They all shrugged at the same time, making the girls laugh even harder.
"You guys are hopeless." Taylor rolled his eyes.
"You talking to me?" Chloe asked, ghetto like.
"Yeah I'm talking to you!" Taylor replied.
"Ohh, you gonna get a spanking now!" Zac teased as Chloe stood up to her 5'5 figure, slapping Taylor on the butt.
"Taylor…" Isaac whined. "That's my job."
Brian the appeared at the doorway, a clipboard in hand. "Hey guys… We're not doing a meet and greet this time, just a grip and grin." With that, he left with the five of them following him. The girls were escorted back into the tour bus, where Lila and Chloes' mother were waiting. Mrs. Ouellette quickly left, wanting to avoid the crowds. Lila was sleeping in her bunk bed, obviously tired from the day.
"Hey sweetheart… How was you weekend with Grandma?" Chloe asked softly, stroking her daughters' forehead.
"It was fun… But I'm tired, Mommy. Can I sleep?" Lila asked, yawning. Chloe smiled, then nodded, leaving Lila alone and joining Kendall at the front of the bus.
"Looks like Pat took a coffee break." Kendall laughed, pointing towards the empty driver's seat. Chloe grinned, then opened a book that was sitting on the table next to her.
"Th Horse Whisperer. Hmm. I remember this book…. It was good." Chloe commented.
"Yeah, I think Taylor was reading it." Kendall said. Just then, Pat popped into the front of the bus.
"Hey guys, sorry." He apologized, then turned the bus on just as the guys boarded.
"Hey Tay, Zac, Ike!" Kendall greeted them.
"Hey gals." Zac grinned.
"Gals? Uhh, Zac…" Chloe looked at him oddly.
"Yeah, gals. It's the new cool things to say." Zac grinned as Isaac cracked up.
"Haha, very funny…" Kendall rolled her eyes as she sat down in Zac's lap.
"Why do girls always sit on the guy's laps? Why can't guys sit on girl's laps for once?" Taylor whined.
"Because you guys weigh a heck of a lot more then we do." Chloe pointed out, sipping some juice that Isaac had handed her.
"Yeah, whatever…" Taylor said, taking his book from Chloe's hands.
"Hey! I was reading that!" Chloe exclaimed.
"So was I." Taylor grinned, pointing out a bookmark.
"Fine. Lemme read it when you're done, please." Chloe requested, scooting over so Isaac could sit down. Isaac sat down next to her with a thud, making Kendall giggle.
"You know what? In less then a year, we're going to have two screaming babies in this tour bus." Isaac pointed out, resting his hand on Chloe's abdomen.
"Point being?" Chloe asked.
"I'm going to get absolutely no sleep!" Isaac moaned.
"Yeah, well… Hope that one of us doesn't have triplets or something." Kendall laughed.
"Oh god, I think I would die!" Zac pretended to faint.
"Actually, I think it would be kinda cool. 4 nieces and nephews." Taylor pointed out.
"Yeah, really… Oh my God. Kendall, we're sisters!" Chloe exclaimed.
Kendall grinned slowly. "We are, aren't we? Awesome man!" she slapped Chloe a high five.
"Yeah, well once this little pow wow is over, I'm going to bed. Anyone care to join me?" Isaac asked, looking towards Chloe.
"Come on Ike… We've already got 2. We don't need a third." Chloe joked as she got up after Isaac.
"You're right. We only want one." Isaac grinned, waving goodnight to everyone else.
