More Than Anything

For the first week, the tour went great. The first show was in Little Rock, and they rented a hotel room. Isaac and Chloe, shared a room, Then Taylor and Lila, and of course Zac and Kendall. The roadies had various rooms, also.

"Hey, Isaac… Time to do wakeup calls." Chloe and Isaac were always the first ones up, so they were dubbed the wakeup callers at 7:30 each morning. Chloe took one side while Isaac took the other.

"Ok." Isaac said. The two walked out and went their separate ways.

Chloe knocked on the first door, and a few moments a guy who had light brown hair and was a few inches taller the Chloe.

"Hey… Brian?!" Chloe asked, stunned to see her older brother.

"Hey Clo." Brian grinned.

"Ok… How… What… Huh?" Chloe stuttered.

"I heard that you married one of these guys, and I wanted to see you again, so I got a few of my connections to get me a job as a roadie." Brian explained. He had left home when Chloe was young, and she had very little memory of him, but he sent cards and pictures every once in a while.

"Awesome! Ok, I have to wake all these other people up… So I'll chat with you later, ok?" With that, Brian shut the door and Chloe made her way down the hall.

After everyone was awake, Chloe and Isaac met back up in the hotel room.

"Did you know that my brother, Brian, is a roadie?" Chloe asked.

"No, I didn't…" Isaac said.

"Neither did I... Are you guys doing anything today? I mean, the concert was yesterday, we're leaving tomorrow…" Chloe asked.

"Nope, not really. I was thinking about taking a tour around the city. You game?" he asked.

"Definetely." Chloe responded.

After everyone had eaten breakfast, Taylor took Lila to the arcade with him while Chloe and Isaac took a car around the city.

"You know what?" Isaac asked.

"What?"

"I think that this" Isaac put his free hand over Chloe's stomach, "Is going to be a boy."

"You know what I think?" Chloe asked.

"What?"

"I think you're right." With that, Isaac smiled and got back to driving. The two stopped at a park for a while, and grabbed a bite to eat.

On the way home, Chloe was falling asleep and Isaac kept on glancing over towards her. At an intersection, as he was driving through, a red Jeep didn't stop and suddenly, it crashed into the passenger side of Isaac's car, where Chloe was sitting. They were both knocked unconscious.

When Isaac woke up, he was in a hospital room with Zac hovering over him.

"Where I am?" he mumbled.

"In a hospital." Zac replied.

Suddenly, the memories of the crash came rushing back to him. He quickly sat up, ignoring the pain in his head.

"Chloe! Where's Chloe?" he asked frantically.

"She's in another room." Zac answered, looking down.

"Is she ok?" Isaac asked.

"Yeah." Zac lied. "Kendall's in there with her, along with Lila. Taylor's down in the cafeteria, along with a roadie named… Brian?"

"Her brother." Isaac mumbled. "What about the tour?"

"Delayed until further notice. Mom and Dad are on their way down."

Isaac closed his eyes and laid back down.

Meanwhile, in Chloe's room, Chloe was still unconscious. Lila was laying next to her mother, and whenever anyone tried to move her, she screamed.

"Well you've certainly got your father's lungs." Kendall had joked. Lila had stayed there for the two days that Isaac had been unconscious.

Chloe groaned and opened her eyes, looking straight at her daughter.

"Hey sweetheart." Chloe said hoarsely. Kendall quickly jumped up and walked over to the edge of her bed.

"Chloe! Oh my God, you're awake… I'm gonna call a doctor…" Kendall pressed a button that was above Chloe's bed.

Moments later, a doctor walked in with a clipboard in her hands.

"Hi Chloe… I see you're awake." Chloe nodded, hugging Lila.

"That's good. How do you feel?" the doctor asked.

"Different. I… I don't know what's wrong… But something's different…" Chloe's forehead creased.

"Yes. You do realize that you were in a car accident, correct?"

"Yeah, I do, unfortunately…" Chloe answered, sighing. "Oh my God. How's Isaac?"

"He's doing fine. He had a concussion, but besides that, he's fine." The doctor answered.

Chloe sighed with relief. "Am I doing ok?"

"Chloe, that's something I wanted to discuss. When your car was hit, it was from the passenger side. Luckily, the car had side airbags. However, the front airbags also went off. Your seat apparently was too far up, and when the airbags went off, your chest and stomach took in the blow…" The doctor trailed off, seeing if Chloe was comprehending all of the information she was giving her.

Chloe looked startled. "Is the baby ok?"

"Chloe… I'm sorry. The force of the airbags was too great, and the baby died instantaneously."

Chloe started crying, and Lila looked at the doctor.

"You mean Mommy's baby died?"

The doctor nodded slowly. Lila's lower lip started quivering, then she burst out crying. Kendall walked over to give Lila a hug, then she set her down in the chair. She hugged Chloe, who was bawling. The doctor quickly left the room unnoticed.

"Isaac… does he know?" Chloe sobbed.

Kendall shook her head. "No. But I have a feeling the doctor is telling him right now."

"He's going to be crushed." Chloe hiccuped.

"Chloe, I've never been a mother, but I know that even though he's gone, there will be plenty more." Kendall said soothingly.

"From the way you and Zac act, I'm surprised that you aren't a mother yet." Chloe commented, still crying a little.

"Yeah, really." Kendall rolled her eyes.

"Can you do me a favor? Can you be with Isaac when the doctor tells him?" Chloe requested.

"I'll try to do even better then that…" Kendall pressed the button above Chloe's head once more, and a few moments later a nurse walked in.

"Hello. How may I help you?" she asked Chloe.

"Hi… She wants to know if she can go see her husband. He's a couple of room down." Kendall asked for Chloe.

The nurse looked at her chart, then nodded. "Yes… Here, let me help you." She rolled out a wheelchair from the corner of the room, then helped Chloe into it.

"Does it hurt to sit up at all?" the nurse asked.

Chloe shook her head no. The nurse then left, and Kendall pushed Chloe out of the room, closely followed by Lila. When they reached Isaac's room, the doctor had just left. When Chloe was rolled into his room, Isaac was laying down and Zac was softly talking to him. Isaac's face was pale, and his hands were shaking. When he saw Chloe, he immediately forced himself to calm down. Chloe got out of her wheelchair and walked over to Isaac.

"Hey…" she whispered. Isaac then lost it, and started crying just as Chloe had earlier. Chloe then sat down on his bed and stroked his cheek. "It's ok…"

Isaac quickly stopped, then gave Chloe a hug. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah… Just a little shaken up. My stomach also hurts a bit, but you know why…" Chloe informed him.

"When Mom and Dad leave, you should go with them. I'll take Lila with me, but you need your rest." Isaac requested.

Chloe shook her head. "Only if I need to."

The next day Isaac was released, and the day after that Chloe was.

"We have a concert tomorrow in Colorado… Are you up for it or no?" Isaac asked Chloe in the car ride to the hotel.

"Yeah, sure… Are we flying out tonight then?" she asked.

"Yes… Around 7. So all we really have time to do is pack, then leave." Isaac told her.

Chloe nodded, then looked out the window. It had been raining for the past hours, and to Chloe it felt right. "What if we never have another child?"

Isaac looked at her, surprised. "Then we'll have Lila."

"But… I mean, I want you to be able to hear your child's first words, see their first steps… Change their diapers." Chloe smiled.

"It was my fault I didn't get to have those memories, not yours. Plus, never think negative." Isaac patted his wife's knee. Chloe nodded, understanding.

That night, on the airplane to Denver, Isaac noticed that Chloe seemed withdrawn. He tried to include her in all of his conversations with his brothers, but she never said a word.

The next day was the day of the concert. Isaac was incredibly worried about Chloe, who had barely said a word since they had arrived and had barely acknowledged Lila's presence.

"Chloe, what's wrong?" They were in the dressing room and the group had just finished the sound check.

"Nothing." Chloe replied. Isaac sighed and sat down, pulling Chloe down with him and into his lap.

"I'm not gonna let you get up until you tell me why you've been to quiet." Isaac wrapped his arms around Chloe's waist.

"Isaac, I just can't believe that the baby died. It's my fault, and I never should have let it happen." Chloe confessed.

Isaac looked at her for a moment, astonished. "It wasn't your fault, Clo. You couldn't have prevented it. Maybe it was destiny that he wasn't supposed to be born. Chloe, if something happens to you and you don't die, it only makes you stronger. And you aren't going to die, so please, I know it's not easy to think about it, but you have to let this pass… You have to express what you feel inside, then just let it go."

Chloe leaned her head against Isaac's shoulder. "I know you're right, but I just can't… Let it go. I felt so close to the baby… Like he was already there. I feel so bad for letting you down Isaac…" Chloe whispered.

"Chloe, you have not let me down in any way, shape or form. I understand that things happen... But life goes on. You know that. I can never and will never feel your connection towards him, but I can understand what you're going through. I'm not asking you to forget about him, just allow life to go on. I know you can do that, Clo… You're stronger. So much stronger then me… Please, at least try." Isaac pleaded.

"Isaac, I… I'll try." Chloe said, sliding down from Isaac's lap and curling up in a ball. She rested her head on his lap, fighting back tears.

That night, right before the concert started, Lila walked up to Isaac and hung onto his leg, refusing to let go.

"Lila… Come on. Daddy needs to go sing for all of those people." Chloe tried to convince Lila to let go, but she didn't.

"No. I don't want Daddy to die, too." Lila refused.

"Honey, I'll make you a deal… If you let go, I'll take you on stage with me if you promise not to go up to the people, ok?" Isaac pleaded.

Lila thought about this for a moment, then nodded. She let go, and Isaac picked her up just as the announcer was introducing them. Chloe grabbed a pair of earplugs, then quickly stuck them in Lila's ears.

"And here's Hanson!" With that, Zac and Taylor ran onto the stage, with Isaac walking out with Lila. Chloe peeked out from behind the curtain to see Lila covering her ears. Isaac was just smiling as he walked over to where his guitars were.

"Everyone, I'd like you to meet my daughter, Lila Hanson." Isaac said. The crowd suddenly became quiet, and Lila took this opportunity to giggle.

"Hi people!" she exclaimed happily. Chloe started laughing, along with Isaac.

"How's about we get this concert started!" Isaac grinned, setting Lila down as the screams erupted.

Once Isaac had his guitar ready, Lila tugged a little on his shirt. He bent down and Lila said something to him that Chloe couldn't hear. Isaac smiled, when whispered back, pointing to Chloe.

Lila looked over towards her mother, then smiled and waved. Chloe smiled and waved back, then Isaac started 'Breathe'. Lila looked back towards her father, then when Taylor started his keyboard part, she grinned and started dancing. Kendall then appeared besides Chloe, laughing.

"You sure raised a little comedian." She commented. Chloe nodded in agreement.

Once the group had done a few more songs, it was time for a set change. Lila ran back to her mother, smiling.

"Did ya see me?" she asked eagerly. Chloe nodded, picking her up and kissing her on the forehead.

"Daddy did good, didn't he?" Chloe asked.

"Yup! So did Uncle Taylor and Uncle Zac!" Lila grinned, squirming to be let down. Chloe set her down ,and she ran to her father who was on the other side of the stage. The curtains were drawn, so Chloe walked out after her.

"What did you whisper to Lila?" she asked Isaac when she reached the two.

"That's for us to know and for you to find out." Isaac grinned, kissing Chloe on the forehead.

Chloe pretended to pout. "No fair."

"Too bad. " Isaac said. A few minutes later, the stage was set up and Lila wanted to go on for a second time. Isaac had agreed instantly, almost as if they had planned it that way.

The first song they played was from their first album, "With you in your Dreams". Lila had never heard the song, so she sat down on the stage floor, listening intently.

Once the song had finished, Zac and Taylor dismissed themselves, leaving Isaac and Lila alone on stage.

"This is a song I wrote many, many years ago… I never thought of the lyrics in a deep way until I met this person. Now, this person changed my life in more ways then one. She changed it for the better, and she changed it to revolve around what I love the most. We had to be kept a secret for many reasons, but she wasn't afraid of that, or, if she was, she didn't allow herself to show it. Lila, go get Mommy." With that, Chloe nearly fainted. She was positive that he was talking about Lila, but when the 4 year old came running up to her and grabbing her hand, she was sure he was talking about her. She shyly walked onto the stage, then she picked Lila up and walked over to where Isaac was sitting.

"You're stealing the show." She whispered to him, away from the microphone.

"No, I believe you two are." He whispered back. Taylor and Zac walked back onto stage, Zac holding onto Kendall's hand. Kendall's face was pale, and she looked like she was about to kill Zac.

"You may think you know what this song means, but unless you are truly in love, you will never feel it's message." Lila ran over to Taylor, who was sitting on a couch that was brought out. She climbed into his lap.

Isaac started to play the piano slowly, and it took a while for Chloe to realize what he was playing.

"I love you more than anything, then anything I do… Any I'd give anything and everything I have just to be with you… These feelings I hold inside are emotions I can not hide…" Isaac then paused for a moment. The crowd was screaming and Chloe didn't have earplugs in. She could barely hear the music, but after a few moments, then crowd quieted down.

He handed a microphone to Chloe, who took it without argument. He once again started singing, her high voice joining in.

"These feelings will not subside… I'd give anything, anything… When I look into your eyes I see something special about you… You and when I hold your hand you seem to understand… That I love you more than anything, then anything, I do… " Zac and Taylor then produced three microphones. Zac handed one to Kendall, who was sitting next to him stiffly.

"And I'd give anything, and everything I have just to be with you… These feelings I hold inside, are emotions I can not hide, these feelings will not subside… I'd give anything, anything… Wen I think of life without you…" the group sang the rest of the song, and the crowd was nearly silent. Lila wanted to join in so badly, but she didn't know the lyrics, so she just sat listening to her family sing. Zac had finally gotten Kendall to sing a little.

"Thank you guys…" Isaac said, standing up. Chloe stood up also, walking over to Taylor and taking her daughter. The curtains then shut, and the set crew came out, clapping.

"Hey little sis… Good job." Brian said, grinning. Chloe rolled her eyes.

"Oh shush. You know I suck!" Brian started laughing. Isaac then came up and pushed Chloe gently into the wing.

"Thank you Isaac." Chloe said, kissing him.

Later that night, back in the tour bus, Chloe, Isaac, Taylor, Zac, and Kendall were sitting at the table playing strip poker.

"I just realized why I love this game so much." Taylor joked as Kendall, Chloe, Zac, and Isaac took off their shirts, leaving nothing but bras on the girls, upper wise.

Zac reached under the table and pinched Taylor's knee, making him yelp.

"Watch it. Lila's sleeping." Isaac warned, dealing the cards as Taylor glared at Zac.

Everyone took a look at their cards, then Isaac folded. The rest just eyed each other, then Zac produced 3 of a kind, Kendall had a straight, Taylor had four of a kind, and Chloe had a full house.

"You know what?" Chloe asked, smiling.

"What?" Kendall replied.

"I think I won this round." Chloe grinned.

Fifteen minutes later, Isaac had on nothing but boxers, Zac had on his pants, Chloe wasn't much better then Isaac, Kendall had on pants, her bra and socks, while Taylor didn't have much of anything on.

"Ok… It's almost one am, and I know that at least one of us is tired, so we'd better hit the rack." Isaac said, grabbing his cloths. The group followed his suit, and soon everyone was in bed. There was one single bed way in the back, which husband and wife took turns sleeping in. That night it was Chloe's and Isaac's, which it would have been even if they had gone the last time.

"You know what?" Chloe asked while Isaac was changing into his pajamas.

"What?" Isaac asked.

"I think you have a cute butt." Chloe said, flopping down on the bed.

"Oh thank you. That just made my day." Isaac grinned, laying down next to her.

"That makes two of us. Good night Ike." Chloe yawned, the closed her eyes, asleep almost instantly.
