Dean: Hey! It's Kim and Dean. We're here for the Planet Premiere of the new Hanson CD, "Live from Albertane"!
Hanson: Hey, this is Isaac, Taylor, and Zac.
Kim: We're so excited that you guys are here! Are you gonna hang out while we play the entire CD?
Isaac: Oh we will, definitely.
Kim: Great!
Dean: Well, tell us all about it.
Taylor: Yeah, we have a new album. It's called "Live from Albertane." hich is ? the Albertane Tour is the name of the tour. It's a confusing title. It's based around a tour we've been on all summer and that's, it has some songs, some covers like "Gimme Some Lovin'," which is the first song on the album, and songs that people have heard, like "Where's the Love," "River," which was on "Three Car Garage," and a couple of songs which people haven't heard before. So they'll be new, new for the fans.
Isaac: Yeah, so you guys will get to hear those today. This next one is called "Gimme Some Lovin'." It's the first song on the CD.
Kim: So, "Gimme Some Lovin'." Why did you guys pick that for your first track?
Taylor: Well, it was really just, on the tour, you know, we wanted to just get out there and play music and part of that was just playing songs that we enjoy listening to. A lot of the songs, the songs that were inspirational for us was fifties and sixties rock 'n' roll.
Isaac: And of course that was a sixties soul song done by Spencer Davis Group, which is just a great song. It also goes into, there's a medley in there, it actually goes into a song called "Shake Your Tail Feathers" which was originally done by the Five Du Tones. It was also done by Ray Charles in the Blues Brothers movie.
Dean: Kim, we love that movie, don't we?
Kim: Yeah. So what's cut number two on the new CD, "Live from Albertane"?
Isaac: This next song is called "Where's the Love."
Kim: Let's sing it. (Kim and Dean singing)
Dean: We're horrible.
Kim: Wait a minute. Didn't you guys start out a capella?
Isaac: We did actually start out a capella, yeah.
Taylor: That was sort of like writing songs and things like that. We weren't playing instruments when we first began.
Isaac: In fact, we could sing something for you. Do you want to try?
Dean: Absolutely.
Taylor: Do we have the time for that?
Dean: We'll make the time.
Hanson: (singing)
Dean: That's amazing.
Kim: That's awesome.
Kim: Now, we know you guys are brothers. And you have other brothers and sisters.
Isaac: Yes we do. We have four younger siblings.
Taylor: There's seven kids in the family.
Zac: But before you ask, no, none of them are joining the band.
Dean: I was just going to ask that.
Taylor: I don't think they care at all.
Zac: They don't want to be in the band at all.
Kim: Why?
Zac: Because, they just don't want to. They want to do their own thing. They don't want to be part of Hanson. They want to do their thing.
Taylor: I think Hanson, we've been doing this for, most of our lives we've been playing music, so that's just been something we've always done. The whole family on the tour, we all travel as a huge group of people but they've always been into it and encouraging, but not as part of the group.
Dean: Do they ever help you? Like with songs.
Taylor: Definitely not. I guess they listen to songs and go "I like that one," or "I like that one," but musically, it just comes down to the three of us.
Isaac: Well, here's a song off our new album, "Live from Albertane." It's called "I Will Come to You."
Dean: Radio Disney. It's Kim and Dean with Hanson in the studio with us today.
Kim: I see we're coming up to "Ever Lonely." Is that a sad one?
Taylor: "Ever Lonely"? No. "Ever Lonely" is more of an up tempo song. On the album, it's basically ? I guess you could say in a way it's a compilation of a lot of our songs because it's a live performance and you get all kinds of the songs that we play in the show. So this one is one It's actually never been recorded before, except on this album.
Isaac: It's one that we've played a lot in our hometown. It's also just we constantly used to play it. It actually was a possibility for the first record, for "Middle of Nowhere," but didn't get on that one. We've been playing it all tour and thought we might as well give the fans something new on this live record. So we gave them "Ever Lonely." It's very much a rock-and-roll kind of song. The song says, "If you're ever lonely, you can call on me".
Taylor: We were talking about titles earlier. There's the title for that one.
Dean: We wanted to know, what does it feel like to be famous, guys?
Isaac: I think It's not so much being famous or anything. That's not really our focus. You just do whatever you do. We pretty much do just about anything that anyone does go to movies, roller-blade, play street hockey, whatever.
Taylor: You still do all the normal stuff. A few times you have to put a hat on or try to stay inconspicuous. Most of the time it's pretty cool.
Dean: Okay, "MMMBop" was your first single. Tell us a little bit about that.
Taylor: "MMMBop" was sort of a long process. The first part of it began when we were working on our first indie record. And then later on, we then came up with the verses and it sort of became a full song.
Isaac: The reason it was long was because we wrote the chorus a long time before we actually wrote the song. The chorus came up, like you said, as a background part on another song.
Taylor: It kind of became a full one after a year or so of going over it in our heads.
Isaac: This next song is pretty cool because it has been the inspiration for a lot of things so far. It's been the inspiration for the title of the tour, the Albertane Tour, and also the inspiration for the title of the live record, the title of the live video.
Taylor: It's just been one of those songs that we just keep going off of. Here's a song called "Man from Milwaukee."
Kim: I know you guys have to go. You can't stay all day, right?
Isaac: No, we can't stay all day. We've had a great time on the show, guys. Thanks for having us on.
Dean: Thank you so much for stopping by the Radio Disney studio. Take your Legos with you.
Kim: We love the new album. Do you want to tell them anything else about it?
Hanson: It's going to be coming out pretty soon, so look in the stores for it. It's called "Live from Albertane." It's been great talking to you guys. Thanks for listening, everybody.
