After that first day, Adia showed up at the window every morning at nine o'clock sharp. Just seeing her put Zac in a good mood.
"I'm sick of playing MarioKart!" Adia exclaimed, throwing down her controller. "Let's find something else to do."
"Alright . . . how about Twister?" Zac asked.
"Okay, but how? There's only two of us," Adia replied.
"I'll call yours and you'll call mine. Okay?" he explained.
"Otay," she ceded. He got up and went over to the closet. He pulled out the game and walked back over to her. They set up the game and started.
"Left foot red," Adia said. Zac stretched his foot out toward the nearest red dot. Then it was Adia's turn.
"Hmm . . . right hand on yellow," Zac said. Adia had to bend over backwards to accomplish this.
"Right foot blue," Adia said. She and Zac were all tangled. Zac moved his foot toward a blue dot. He lost his balance and fell on top of Adia. "Ow!" They both started to laugh. Then they just laid there for a second. It was really weird, like there was an invisible magnet drawing them together. Zac didn't want to move, and Adia didn't want him to. Suddenly Zac just kissed her. A soft peck on the lips. Magic. Adia kissed him back. They continued to kiss until Zac needed some air. He rolled over, off of her, onto his back.
"Oh, my god," she said. "I can't believe that just happened." She sat up.
"Me either," Zac replied.
"I just kissed my crush's brother. I'm such an idiot," she said.
"Well, didn't you like it?" he asked.
"Oddly enough, yes. But that's what I don't understand. I don't like you like that," Adia replied. "Yet, I enjoyed kissing you."
"Oh . . . well I don't like you like that either," he lied. "But that doesn't mean we can't do it."
"Do what?" she said.
"Kiss, make out, whatever," he said.
"Yeah, I guess that's true," she said. She stood up and walked over to the window.
"Where are you going?" he asked, standing up and walking to her.
"Home. I need to think about it," she said.
"Alright," he replied. She began to climb out the window, but he stopped her. He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her again.
"I'll see you tomorrow," he whispered.
"Bye," she said breathlessly, climbing out the window.
"Bye," he responded. He closed the window. Then he fell back on his bed and began to laugh.
