The limousine pulled up in front of Hard Rock Café. Surprisingly, there were no fans to be seen. Usually the teeny-bopper girls knew everywhere Hanson went, but for once, they didn't. It was a welcome relief to the three boys, who were used to having to wear disguises and push through crowds to get places. The chauffeur got out and opened the car door. The foursome got out and walked into the restaurant.
Instantly they were blasted by loud music. Some cheesy 80's song was playing. Zac started singing along.
"You spin me right round baby, right round. Like a record baby, right round, round, round,"Zac sang along. His voice was cracking, and he really didn't sound that great to begin with. Isaac and Taylor looked at Zac, then a each other. Isaac rolled his eyes, then raised his eyebrow, and mouthed, "Should we shut him up?" Taylor nodded. They crept up behind him. Isaac grabbed Zac in a headlock and covered his mouth.
"Dude, shut the hell up!" Taylor exclaimed. "You're driving us insane!" Zac bit Isaac's hand.
"Ow!" Isaac yelled in pain, letting go of Zac. "That hurt, you little twirp!" Taylor and Zac were both sniggering behind their hands.
"Sorry," Zac said quietly. "You shouldn't have done that. Serves you right." Diana finally took notice of what was going on.
"Stop bickering, you three!" Diana said. "No more or you're all grounded."
"Whoop-tee-doo! Like you can do much!" Isaac muttered under his breath.
"What was that, Isaac Hanson?" Diana asked.
"Nothing!" Isaac replied.
"Good!"
"Di? Is that you?" a woman's voice yelled. Diana turned to see Caroline standing at the entrance.
"Cari!" Diana yelled back. The two women ran to each other and hugged.
"Di?" the three boys repeated. They started laughing.
"Boy, come here. I want you to meet my friend," Diana said. They walked over to where Diana was standing. "This is Caroline Anderson and her daughter Abigail." The woman had short brown hair and was taller than Diana. She wore a black business suit. There were two girls standing next to her. The smaller one, whom Isaac guessed to be Abigail, had longer brown hair and looked like her mother. Isaac had no idea who the other girl was. Mrs. Anderson must have noticed Isaac staring at her, because she suddenly remembered to introduce her.
"Oh, I'm sorry! This is my niece Andrea! The other one, Marilla, is in the bathroom. She'll be back in a second," Caroline said. "Andrea, this is–."
"I know who they are!" Andrea exclaimed. "Oh, my gosh! You're Hanson! I'm going to be eating lunch with the Hanson!" Taylor was amused by how excited she was. She was about Taylor's height, with short brown hair. Her eyes were a light blue, and she wore a pink dress. He had to admit she was pretty cute.
"Hi, I'm Taylor," he said, thrusting his hand forward.
"Hi, I'm Andrea," she replied, shaking his hand vigorously. Isaac stared at her for a second. She was cute, but a little too hyper for his taste. He started to look around the restaurant. There were posters of rock stars everywhere. He looked over at the hostess, who had pink hair and a zillion facial piercings. Just then, a girl came out of the bathroom. Isaac was stupefied by her beauty. She was long dark-brown hair, part of which was pulled up into a bun on her head. She had pale blue eyes and wore a black shirt that showed her midriff and jeans. She walked over and stood next to Andrea. Isaac and Taylor's jaws both dropped at the same time. This girl was a carbon copy of Andrea. Twins?
"Everyone, this is my other niece, Marilla. Marilla, this is Diana, Isaac, Taylor, and Zac," Caroline said.
"Hello," she said curtly, shaking each of their hands. She stopped when she got to Isaac.
"Hi," he said, shaking her hand. His dark brown eyes had a sadness behind them. She wondered why. Not that she would ever find out, since she had sworn off guys and dating.
I am so lucky! Isaac thought. Two of them! Maybe, hopefully, the beautiful one is nothing like her sister. Please, God, please let her be normal.
"So," Diana spoke up. "Let's go eat." They walked over to the hostess, who escorted them to a table.
Andrea glared at Taylor. The son-of-a-bitch had already pinched her butt twice, and he kept winking at her. Now he had his hand on her knee, or more correctly, her thigh. I don't care if he is famous, she thought. He's dead!
Andrea looked over at her twin. Isaac and Marilla were deep in conversation. They seemed to get along well enough. Why did I have to get stuck next to the asshole? she thought. It's just not fair.
"Say...do you like the movie Hamlet ?" Isaac asked Marilla. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I hate Mel Gibson's version. He was dreadful," she replied. He took a sip of his drink.
"Have you ever seen Kenneth Branaugh's version?" he asked.
"No, I don't believe I have. Is it any good?" Marilla responded.
"I don't know. I'm supposed to watch it as a school assignment. But it'll be much more fun if I have someone to watch it with," Isaac said. Marilla panicked.
"Well....uh....are you asking me out on a date? Because I don't date. But if you're asking me just as friends...well, that's cool," she said quickly.
"Uh...yeah, guess. Just as friends," he replied. They heard a resounding slap from across the table. Andrea had slapped Taylor across the face.
"You are such a perv!" Andrea exclaimed. She stomped off, leaving Taylor in shock.
"I'd better go see if she's alright," Marilla said. Isaac stood up, allowing her to get out of the booth. She ran off after her sister.
"What the hell did you say to her?" Isaac asked.
"Um....," Taylor mumbled. He leaned over and whispered into Isaac's ear.
"What?! You said that! Well, if I were a girl and you said that to me, I would slap you, too!" Isaac exclaimed. He then got up and walked off in search of the girls.
"Where did I go wrong?" Taylor said outloud, shrugging his shoulders.
Isaac finally found the girls in the bathroom. He could hear Andrea ranting and raving from outside. He knocked on the door.
"I'm coming in," he said loudly. The hostess with the pink hair turned around and gave him a strange Look. "She's upset about something." He hostess nodded and turned back around. Isaac pushed the door open. Marilla was standing against the wall, while Andrea was pacing and screaming.
"Can you believe he said that? Of all the nerve! I hate him! I HATE HIM!" she yelled.
"That's understandable," Isaac said. "Most girls do." The two girls looked over at him.
"What are you doing in here?" Marilla asked. "This is the girls bathroom. You're not supposed to be in here."
"I came to apologize for my brother. Look, I know he can be a bit of a jerk at times-," Isaac began.
"He's a horny little pervert!" Andrea yelled.
"Yes, he is. But don't get mad at him. I'm sure he was just joking," Isaac responded.
"You didn't hear what he said, Isaac," Andrea said.
"Oh, yes. I did. And I'm too much of a gentleman to repeat it," he said. "Trust me, if anyone knows how big a womanizer my little brother is, its me. I know all and, seen almost all of it."
"You're probably just like him, aren't you?" Andrea asked.
"Actually, no. I'm not a wanker, like he is. But you have to understand, he's been through a lot," Isaac replied.
"Like what?" she said. "I'd love to know. It can't possibly be that bad."
"Well, it is. And I think its his place to tell you that," Isaac responded. "Come on back out. I'll even sit next to him, so you don't have to. Alright?"
"Well...alright," Andrea said. Isaac put his arms around the two girls, and they walked back to the table.
