My definition of good fan fic:
*Good, original story line, with fresh ideas. A new take on an old concept can make all the difference!
*Realistic characters and situations - but make each character unique, making them stand out!
*Sex and foul language are cool if it furthers the story along! And there is a way to write sex scenes tactfully, and any good writer knows that!
*Good grammar and for pete's sake --- check your spelling!
My definition of crappy fan fic:
+The whole girl next door thing -- so old! Don't use it unless you know how to work it properly!
+If it is so unrealistic I either 1) get confused or 2) feel like I'm asleep and having a bad dream, I won't read it, nor will I recommend it to others!
+Okay . . . sex is cool, but some people get a little overly graphic with it in their fan fiction! Come on, guys, we have imaginations of our own, let's leave it to that. Don't get too descriptive!
+Bad grammar --- you make your characters sound extremely unintelligent (as well as yourself, being the author of it), and if every other word out of their mouths is useless cussing - well that just annoys me. Spelling - You are just an idiot if you do not use spell check or have someone proofread for errors! Actually, I suggest doing both - spell check only catches misspelled words that aren't words . . . if the word is an actual word, the spell check won't catch it, even though it doesn't make sense in the sentence!

Okay . . . I have a beef about fan fic. I think that if you're going to take the time to write it, it should atleast be good quality reading. Something that keeps the reader's attention longer than 5 seconds! I don't know if its just me or what, but lately I've been coming across some really crappy fan fic! Get a clue, teenyboppers!!! I have had a really hard time finding good fan fic these days -- maybe because there is no longer a whole lot of good fan fiction out there to set an example(IT ALSO MAY BE DUE TO THE FACT THAT I AM 19 YEARS OLD). But come on guys -- you can take any story idea you get and turn it into good fan fic! It just takes a little effort! Also, remember, any idiot can write, but only a true writer, who loves words, can write well! And I want you guys to know, that whenever I come across a really good fan fic, I will link to it and most likely it will be featured on the little fan fic site of the week section on my index page. I will also not put a story up if I am not completely 100% satisfied with it. If you would like me to host a story of yours . . . just email me and let me know. I'll have to read it first before I agree to it, but just email me anyways. That's all I have to say!!!
