Best Rock Group at MTV Europe Awards
The band was also nominated for "Best Group" along with Cardigans, Jamiroquai, The Backstreet Boys and TLC (won by The Backstreet Boys) and was also one of the nominees for "Best Album" with 1998's "Americana," that disputed with Backstreet Boys' "Millenium," Boyzone's "By Request," Lauryn Hill's "The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill" and Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Californiacation," but this award was won by Boyzone with their album "By Request." The Offspring still played "The Kids Aren't Alright" at the ceremony. The other acts of the night were Marilyn Manson, The Corrs, Cardigans, Jamiroquai, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Underworld and Puff Daddy.
Noodles reported on his tour journal: "We played at the European MTV Awards. That was a big deal for us because we've never really done anything like that before. We've certainly never won such an award before. That was kind of cool." Here's the complete tally of who won what at the ceremony:
