November 12, 1999: After being nominated in 3 categories for the MTV Europe Video Music Awards, The Offspring won the "Best Rock Artist" award at the ceremy held at the Ponit in Dublin, Ireland on the November 11th night. The Offspring overcame the others nominees for this category, who were Cardigans, Lenny Kravitz, Marilyn Manson and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The band was also nominated for "Best Group" along with Cardigans, Jamiroquai, The Backstreet Boys and TLC (won by The Backstreet Boys) and was also one of the nominees for "Best Album" with 1998's "Americana," that disputed with Backstreet Boys' "Millenium," Boyzone's "By Request," Lauryn Hill's "The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill" and Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Californiacation," but this award was won by Boyzone with their album "By Request."

The Offspring still played "The Kids Aren't Alright" at the ceremony. The other acts of the night were Marilyn Manson, The Corrs, Cardigans, Jamiroquai, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Underworld and Puff Daddy.

Noodles reported on his tour journal: "We played at the European MTV Awards. That was a big deal for us because we've never really done anything like that before. We've certainly never won such an award before. That was kind of cool."
