"It's about time you girls came home! I didn't know where you where!" Mrs. Wesley exclaimed from behind the kitchen door.
"Sorry, Mom. We were at a friend's house, down the street. Her name is Kaitlin Blessing," Kim stated to save her and Nicki's butt, "she's number 12. Nicki and I didn't mean to be late for dinner. We kinda lost track of time...."
"That's okay, as long as my babies make some new friends..." Nicki and Kim hated it when Mom called them 'Her Babies'. They were 16, not two. Plus they had little brothers and sister, why can't Mom call them 'Her Babies'? It didn't make sense. "Well, go wash up for dinner girls. Your father grilled steaks for dinner."
"Where's Maggie mom?" Kim asked.
"She's out side in her play pen." Mrs. Wesley answered, "Don't worry she's fine. Now do what I said."
Nicki and Kim marched up the stairs into Kim's bedroom. Until now, they had always shared a room, and it made both of them uncomfortable, so Nicki had the tendency to hang out in Kim's room, seeing as it was the neater of the two.
"I wonder if Mom and Dad ever plan on telling us about the Hanson's. Maybe they were planning on telling us, oh, a quarter to never!" Nick said, looking though a magazine that was on Kim's floor.
"C'mon, Nicki, they would have told us sooner or later." Kim replied.
"Knowing them, later"
"Give them some credit."
"Fine." Nicki through Kim's mag on the floor, and looked at her sister who was now watching Maggie out of her window, "So what if they did tell us. How would have we reacted?"
"The same as we did at Kate's house, I guess..." Kim said placing her eyes on Nicki.
"Wrong, Kimbo. You would have acted the same and I would have probably started running around the house. We wouldnıt have held back at all."
"Oh, I see. So you think I would have done nothing?"
"Most definitely."
"You're wrong, as usual."
"Oh, Kimberley, Kimberley, Kimberley, I know you better than you think. I was only crammed inside a womb with you for nine months!"
"Oh, Nicolette, Nicolette, Nicolette, WHO SAYS THAT MAKES YOU AN EXPERT?" Saying this only made the girls burst out into a fit of laughter.
"We sound so dumb, Kim."
"Speak for yourself, Retard..."
"Kids! Dinner!" When Mom called dinner in the Wesley house one thing was to be heard: a stampede.
With 5 children, that's all that would be able to be heard anyway. Things at the dinner table seemed to be the same. People sat in the same seats night after night. Mom at the head of the table, then, sitting clockwise, Kim, Nicki, and then Dad at the other end, then Micah, and Jacob. Maggie was put in her in door playpen that was found in right behind mom, near the back window. No one waited to dig into that night's feast.
"Good steaks, Dad." Micah complemented his father.
"Thanks, Micah. Someday I'll teach you and your brother how to grill like a Wesley." Mr. Wesley said before stuffing another piece of steak into his mouth.
"Hey! What about us girls?" Nicki shirked.
"You are girls, you, you, GIRLS!" Jacob argued back.
"Oh, you found us out Jacob! How did you know?" Kim stood up for her sister and the whole race of girls.
"Lucky guess..." Jacob snickered back.
"Alright kids, settle." Mom was always the peacemaker of the family. She insisted on everything going as planned. "Your father and I have to tell you kids something fairly important. So listen."
"Your mother is right. Now, this may come as a shock to you, but..."
"KIMMY AND NICKI ARE ADOPTED! I KNEW IT!" Micah started yelling, spitting steak with every word he said.
"Micah! That was totally uncalled for!"
"Sorry, Mom."
"Alright, enough with the wisecracks, boys. Listen to me. We have been informed that we have some famous neighbors..."
Kim and Nicki looked at each other and smiled.
"Whoa! Who is it? Is it Jean Claude Van Damme? Or maybe one of the Power Rangers! Or "
"No, no, no, no Jacob. It's actually a music group."
"THE SPICE GIRLS!"
"No, you wish, Micah...." Nicki said, taking another bit of her super.
"Hey... stop tormenting your brother. It's actually the band called Hanson."
It was time to stun their parents, so the girls did it the only way they could think of.
"Cool." They said in unison.
"Cool? Isn't that the band Nicki has been drooling over for the past few months?" Mom inquired.
"Yup. That's cool." Nicki said calmly.
"Aren't you at least a little shocked?" Mrs. W stunned her self.
"I am, Mom." Micah interrupted. "That gives me someone to roller blade with!"
"Only you would think of that, Micah..." Nicki moaned.
"Shut up, Nicolette Sweaty!"
"Micah!" Mr. W looked at his son warning him.
"I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so...."
"Help you God cause I'm gonna strangle you, Micah Nicholas!" Nick threatened her little brother.
"Nicolette Isabelle! Never threaten your little brother!"
Okay, so it was getting a little out of hand. Dad decided to interrupt. "AND! And it is our job a family unit not to tell anybody. Agreed?"
"Agreed" said Kim snickering about what had just occurred.
"Agreed" said Nicki.
"Agreed" said Jacob.
"Hey their sister is really cute, but I still dont know..." said Micah.
"Micah!" They all yelled.
"Fine!" Micah jumped, "Agreed!"
"Great. Now that that's settled, we can enjoy dinner." Mrs. W started to eat again.

After supper was cleared and Micah and Jacob had gone to the park to play, the phone rang.
"Hello?" Mrs. W answered it.
"Ahh Is Kim or Nicki there? Please?" The perky young female voice asked.
"Yup," Mrs. V replied, "Just hang on a sec."
"K."
Mrs. W ran up the stairs, not wanting to wake up Maggie who was just put down by Kim, into Nicki's room and found no girls, she went into Kimıs room and told them that the phone was for them.
"Hello?" Nicki said, being the closest to the phone and the twin that loved to talk on it.
"Hi, it's Kate." Kate said, not really knowing who it was on the other line, if it was Kim or Nicki.
"Oh hi," Nicki paused, "Hold on a sec." She placed the phone close to chest and, "Kim can you go hang the phone up down stairs?" Please?"
Kim looked at her sister for a little while. Once the puppy eyes got to her she, "Fine."
"Thanks."
*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@
Kim made her way down the hall and down the stairs to hang up the phone that her mother left off the hook.
"Kim is that you?" Kim heard her mother say from the living room.
"Ya." She replied.
"Come here for a sec. I need to talk to you." Mrs. W insisted.
When Kim was in talking distance of her mother, "Derek called here today."
Kim was shocked, "He did?" She asked, "Who took the message and when did he call?"
"He left a message on the machine when you and Nicki were at Kate's house." Her mom looked at Kim straight in the eye. "He says call him when you can, but not tonight."
"Why not," Kim asked, "It's only 8:45pm..."
Mrs. W cut Kim off, "Cause its 10:45pm there and we need to talk about something."
"Like what?" Kim didn't like the way that this conversation was going.
"Like what sport your going to get into..." Mrs. W was cut off.
"Mom I told you!" Kim raised her voice, "I don't want to play anything."
"I know what you said and I'm telling you that you have to." Mrs. V shouted back. "You need something so that you won't get in trouble after school."
"Get in trouble after school?" Kim asked, "Doing what?"
"Getting in trouble and stuff. You know what I mean."
"No mom I don't!" Kim yelled, her face angry.
"Do we have to go though this all again." Mrs. W said calmly, knowing that she had won the fight.
*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@
"Well Kate I have to go." Nicki said, thinking this was the only way that she could get Kate top shut up about her new boyfriend.
"Oh," Kate sounded surprised, "Ok."
"Ok then I guess I'll see later or something."
"Ya. Bye." Kate paused, "Oh Nicki?"
"Yes." Nicki said.
"Do you and Kim want to come over tomorrow?" Kate asked, "I'm having a pool party."
"Ya sure. What time?"
"Around 3pm."
"Oh. Well, I will be there, but Kim has to bring Maggie to hear doctor's appointment at 3:15... So she won't be able to make it.... But I definitely will be there.... Who else is coming?"
"Oh... some friends who live around hear... nothing too big"
"Okay, ya, sure... I'll be there.... Bye Kate!"
*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@
"Kim?" Nicki asked into Kim's room, but after she didn't get a response, she looked into Maggie's room to she if her twin was in there. "Kim?"
"Shh." Was all that was heard from the corner of Maggie's crib, "What do you want?"
"Gee, what's up your ass?" Nicki asked as she made her way to where Kim was standing in the dark.
"Nothing." Kim said short and simple.
Nicki could tell that something was wrong, but didn't decide to not dwell on it. Kim was the only one that was really effected about the big move. She had a big life back in their old city. She had a boyfriend, named Derek. Kim was also one of the best basketball plays in their school and had grades to die for. Ever since the move, all those things had gone down hill. Kim decided to quit basketball, and stop caring about her schoolwork. Her and Derek decided to break up, thinking that a long diastase relation ship wouldn't work, but knowing that they would always be bonded together with...
"Any way, guess what?" Nicki said in a cheerful voice.
Kim motioned for Nicki to fallow her out of Maggie's room and into the hallway. When they got out, that was when Nicki could tell that Kim was crying.
"So what am I suppose to guess about?" Kim asked.
"Well guess who Kate's boyfriend is?" Nicki did one of her I know something you don't know smiles.
"Who?"
"Isaac Hanson." Nicki was all excited, "And if that's not something, Zac and Chrissy are going out!"
"Whose Chrissy?" Kim asked.
"Kate's 11 year old sister." Nicki answered, throwing her voice a little.
