Zac sat staring aimlessly out the window of the Hanson tour bus...trees...grass...dirt... Nothing of international importance, I mean, they had all of this in Oklahoma, right? He decided to go back to his little compartment and tried to see ip he could pick up anything oh his TV, the were basically in the middle of nowhere...literally...and sometimes it was hard to get any stations.
Once in his compartment, with the curtain, of course, he switched on the TV. ABC came in pretty good...but it was just some stupid new program about...yup, Bill Clinton. Zac was so tired of hearing Bill Clinton this and Bill Clinton that...why couldn't the mand just keep his mouth shut and his pants zipped?
He began to channel surf some more, not finding much, when suddenly Tay jerked opem the curtain and stuck the video camera in his face.
"Tell the world how it feels to be famous, Zac," Tay insisted.
"Well," he began to answer, "It's nice until you remember that your famous, then it's 'Oh God, no more screaming women!!' but then you see a fine girl not screaming and just acting interested and suddenly, it's nice to be famous again."
"Zac, you cheeseball...do you have anything on your mind besides girls?"
"Yeah, girls and food. Yup, that's enough to get you through life..."
Tay mumbled something that sounded like, "Sheez...he's got his priorities lined up," and then closed the curtain to go find someoen more interesting to interview.
Zac turned off the television and layed back on his pillow. Closing his eyes, he started to daydream about the girl from yesterday's concert...3rd row...right in the middle, blond hair...really cute... He imagined what it would be like to talk to her...she's probably scream, most of them did, but you never knew...maybe this one would have been different...
Slowly he drifted off to la-la land...
"ZAC!! ZAC!! WAKE UP!!!!"
Uuugh...wha...? Why....uuuuuuhhhh..."
"Zac, come on, we need to get ready," Tay persisted.
"Ready? But it's only like...1:30..."
"1:30?? It was 1:30 four hours ago!"
"You mean, I SLEPT for four hours??!! That's the longest I've slept since last night!"
"Duh, man, get up! Sound check in 45 minutes!"
Tay closed the curtain and Zac slowly sat up. He had had the most wonderful dream...about...yup, the 3rd row girl...awww... He loved dreams.
After about five minutes of reminicing (sp?), he pulled the curtain aside and walked over to his "closet" which was really just another bunk. What to wear, what to wear, he though to himslef. He dug threw his masses of clothes before deciding on orange parachute pants anda black and white T-shirt. Shoes? Well, he decided that today he would sport his black and white Airwalks. Nice idea? He thought so.
He got dressed and walked to the bathroom, combed his hair, brushed his teeth, and then found his way to the so-called kitchen. There, Mackie, Avie, and his mom were eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Aw, delicacy.
"Honey, you want something to eat?"
"Yeah, do we have any...uuuh, chocolate? Ya know, to get me pumped up?"
"Zac! You need something more nutritious before you perform. You're a growing boy. How about some fruit and a sandwich? We have apples, orange, and bananas. And you could have either peanut butter and jelly or ham and cheese."
"Umm, ok, p.b. &j. and an apple...then can I have some chocolate?"
"Only if you go get your two brothers and ask them what kind of sandwich they want."
"Ok," Zac mumbled and walked over to Ike's bunk. He jerked open the curtain. Bad idea, Ike was in the middle of dressing himself. Not an easy taks when you have to get dressed in a bunk.
"Eww...sorry, Ike." He closed the curtain and then said, "Mom wants to know what kind of sandwich you want, p.b. & j., or ham and cheese?"
"Ham and cheese...with everything except ketchup and mayo," Ike answered.
"K."
He then walked over to Tay's compartment, only to find that he wasn't there. Ok, where is the guy, I mean, come on, this is a BUS, there are only so many places to get away from your annoying little brother.
"Tay!!? Where are you?"
"In the bathroom, Zac! But don't come in!"
Oooh, Tay's on a camping trip with the John...nice. He proceded to walk to the door of the bathroom.
"Ok, well, Mom wants to kno what kind of sandwich you prefer, p.b. & j. or ham and cheese?" Zac asked, sounding as annoyed by his little job as he could.
"Ham and cheese, hold the cheesem with mustard and lettuce. can ya handle that?"
"Sure, I guess."
Zac, still in a daze from his "daysleeping" walked back to the "kitchen."
"Ok, mom, Ike wants ham and cheese with everything except ketchup and mayo. Tay wants ham without the cheese, but with mustard and lettuce. Ok?"
"Ok, I'll holler at you guys when it's ready, you go finish getting ready, you need to hurry, we only have 20 minutes until soundcheck."
Zac, already having made the decision that he didn't want to perform tonight, walked back to his bunk, and once again turned on the TV. More Bill Clinton. What a surprise. He turned that off and clicked the power button on his radio. MMMBop, ba duba dop..."MMBop" faded out and the radio DJ started, "That's Hanson with 'MMMBop.' They're having a concert tonight at the Key Arena, it starts at eight o'clock, and for all you Hanson fans that didn't get tickets, today is your lucky day, I have two 4th row tickets to give away, just be the 16th caller at 1-800-888-6499 when you hear the touch-tone prize phone. That number again 1-800-888-6499. Be caller 16 to get your Hanson concert tickets!"
Zac then got an idea, he picked up his dad's cell phone, and pressed 1-800-888-6499...he would press "send" when the touch-tone prize phone jingle came on. He listened to a commercial about a dry-cleaning service called "Spiffy's Cleaners" and then something about "Vote Tom Smith for mayor!" before he heard the touch tone, adn the DJ announcing, "There it is! Caller 16 gets two tickets to the Hanson Albertane Tour concert tonight at the Key Arena! We'll talk to our winner after this song, it's 'Thank You' by Alanis Morissette!"
Zac quickly pressed "send." The phone rang four times before he heard, "You're our lucky winner! You've won two tickets to Hanson's Albertane Tour concert tonight!"
Yes! "OHMIGOD!!" He screamed in his best "girl" voice, "You're kidding!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! I searched for like, days to get tickets!! AAAHHHH!!! I'm soooo excited!! I LOVE you man!!"
The DJ interrupted him, "And what's your name?"
Zac thought for a second and then said, "Amy....Amy....uuuh...Amy Clinton."
"Well, Amy Clinton, you have just won two 4th row tickets to a Hanson concert, who are you taking with you?"
"Uuuh...my...uuuh...my best friend Katie!"
"Well, you and Katie sure are lucky, come and pick up your tickets before 7:00 at 2100 South 75th street, ok?"
"Ok."
"And what station made you a winner?"
Zac was at a loss, he had never even listened to this staion before! He thought quickly and then blurted out, "The station I'm listening to!" and hung up.
Zac couldn't believe it! He had just won tickets to his won concert!
